Steps and stairs.
The rules.
1. Take a photo of your bike with something that matches the theme in the picture.
2. Interpret the theme any way you like.
3. Pictures should be taken between the dates in the topic title.
4. If you post a picture you can either suggest a theme for next week’s challenge or vote for someone else’s suggestion. First suggestion to get two supporting votes becomes next weeks theme, probably.
5. No limit on number of photos posted.
By the way, I’m a bit late posting this week, I normally try to do it on Sunday evening.
I haven’t got exclusive rights on this idea, so if I ever I’m late or forget, I’ve got no objection to someone else posting the challenge.
Oohh first to get my picture in….next week, couple of suggestions as I ride in an urban setting in the week, how about construction or gentrification?? (Can you tell I live in the Docklands??!?)
I started this challenge with the intention of getting people out on their bikes exploring, yet here I am photographing things I ride past every day on my commute. I'll try harder at the weekend.
Steps on the central reservation of the split level dual carriageway between Kidderminster and Stourport.
All that's left of Bewdley Bandstand.
Quayside steps at Bewdley.
Gentrification sounds a good one. I don't know if it should include things like barn conversions, but if it does, that should cover urban and rural areas.
A variety of different kinds of steps on this morning's ride.

Another similar ride today. Urban again but I live in a city centre. Just a short blast after work.
As I was riding towards it I thought of this thread. My take on steps:-
Slightly annoyed with myself for having missed contributing to last week's 'alleys/snickets' thread, despite being the one who suggested it, and having several fine examples within a 2 mile radius of where I live ... hey-ho.
But this week, just a little pootle yesterday, on the wrong bike to ride/enjoy the steps.
Happy to second either 'reflections' or 'gentrification' as next week's theme.
Did you take the bike down that middle bit between the handrails? Bars perfect width for it! 😄
Might be Sunday again before I go for a ride with worthy subject matter for photos.
Did you take the bike down that middle bit between the handrails?
And then next week, we could do 'injuries'!
Did someone mention injuries?
Bit of a cop-out with the photos, the plan was to have a fun commute home, ride to the cliff tops, send it down some stair sets, take pictures of said stair sets, then make my way home. Instead on the way had a little play around in the park practising basic trials moves. Attempted to do a pedal-up onto a low balance beam, foot slipped off pedal and gratiously received my first proper shinner.
So instead here's some photos of my bike beside some steps in the churchyard of the next village along from where I live:
From a slow, lazy spin locally this morning. Better steps were to be had on last night's ride around Hebden Bridge, but everyone was going too quickly for me to stop and get my phone out.
