Finally got a bike seat sorted for my 2yo son so took him out on his first ride. The whole way round he was shouting for me to go faster and “more bumpy bits” - think we have a mtb’er in the making here! So obviously nothing gnar but my first ride off the rollers in ages and one of the best ever. I don’t think boring country park routes will cut it for him soon, will have to find some more interesting routes.

After spending a fair bit of the final week of the school holidays fettling and rebuilding various bikes have only been out with the dog for a couple of quick spins this weekend so far.

Playing with phone cameras and nasty but nice clip-on lenses yesterday.

Today thought I'd give the newly singlespeeded BFe a quick shakedown. Lasted 10 minutes of chain dumping before I trundled home and swapped for the Rocket. More fettling needed...

From Friday, if that counts - dry and breezy around Ladybower. Also proof that the National Trust thinks no view is too nice to ruin with one of their signs on a 10 foot pole.

Seems like the photos I took today all turned out badly, but anyway. Getting used to my new hardtail and took the opportunity to explore the local area. Found some trails I'd overlooked before and managed to string together a surprising amount of singletrack for the south east. Also rediscovered a childhood walk (which I had to carry the bike up) and ate a lot of wild blackberries.
