Bike Verbier.
The colours on the mountains were just breathtaking.
Greens, oranges and full blown reds capped off with the snow on the peaks.
It was sometimes difficult to look at the trail instead of the scenery.

Bike Verbier.

Ahh. I thought the signpost didn't look French (Or recognise the scenery) but on my low-res screen I thought it said Bourg st Maurice.

Looks stunning. Clearly a great time of year to go.

This was very much the story for well over half of Penmachno.

But that said, on Friday, briefly this was Gwydir [?] Forest.
[img] [/img]
Then it rained there too.

Got a call from work literally as I was opening the garage door to go for a ride. Spent all day on the phone 🙁

Soggy Sarf Downs ride Saturday on comedy summer tyres (aredents really don't cope with mud) with the winter tractor tyres fitted for a brief Sunday outing to remind me that I'm dragging another kilo of reinforced sidewalls and sticky, spiky compound for the next six months.

Still, think of the fitness boost.

Finished building my Aeris 120 yesterday as the other half was away for the weekend and I could get it in the house out of the pouring rain and leaky shed.

Managed to take it for a very short shakedown ride this morning, this green lane just about a mile up the road was as gnarly as it got, though it is quite rocky lower down. Nothing fell off or self destructed so that's a bonus, might need a link out of the chain and the saddle shuffling back. Feels good so far, sprightly enough, poppy, back end is smooth 🙂

Did the Evans Trafford Centre Sportive today. 50 pretty flat Km but last decent training ride before the Manchester Blackpool BHF midnight ride next weekend.

Nice bit of fun on routes I've not ridden before.

Four local rides this week, every one in rain ranging from pervasive drizzle to pouring, trails are sodden, and so am I!

Good fun though.

Just over 100k on back lanes around Gower/Swansea Valley which was the maiden voyage for my new (to me) Shand Stoater built up in audax/light tourer mode.

On Saturday it was the trails above Pitlochry which were a wee bit beyond me at points. I don’t have the skill or confidence to slide down long, steep and slidey chutes straight into a catch berm.
A quick spin on my local hill (Millstone in Aberdeenshire) today once the weather cleared.[img] [/img]

Had a few hours up Rivi this morning.

So wet and sloppy, but glad to be out after a week off with cold.

I think half of the trails ended up in the showers by the end of the day!

Had a fun but utterly filthy day at FOD yesterday - glad my mate drove in the end looking at the state of the bikes / gear and the stench in the way home!

The house is now littered with wet riding gear that I'm trying to dry.

My new Scout hasn't had a dry, non-filthy ride yet!

360 miles from Holyhead to South London in 4 days for my friend's charity.

Absolutely brutal ride with 20,000 feet of climbing including the Llanberis pass and numerous other horrible climbs in Welsh Valleys, the Malverns, Cotswolds & Chilterns.
