I have a pass for 6.30 pm this evening until late, so just deciding where to go. The weather is all over the place, says dry in one place and just 10 miles away says double rain drop. I think it's gonna have to be lanes and tracks rather than rooty loamy goodness.

Mr coticNoise, your pics are always ace. Do you use a touch up app to make them betterer, if so which one?

Ran another of my Fat Lad at the Back social rides this morning. Seven of us toddled out for 25 miles round some local bridleways and cycle paths, via a rather excellent cafe.

Then this happened 😯

A very wet, muddy and gritty 40km loop in the Surrey Hills today. On one hand, all my kit is still drying out and my bike still sounds like the drivetrain is made of sandpaper. On the other hand, managed to finish off Rapha Rising 🙂

Managed a lap of Marin Trail (not 100%) sure it's new name, much better than two, weeks back when I have to cut short as just had no energy.

Then picked up a Kona Unit to use along canals and local dual use paths

Cheers!

I can't usually bear to post unprocessed photos (having a Fine Art degree and being an Art / Photography teacher will do that to you). I use whatever post-processing app is my current favourite (at the moment it's Polarr, but I've recently used Snapseed, Flickr's built in app (Aviary?), Pixlr Express, Darktable, etc.). I don't use preset filters though - all the processing is done manually on each individual image, although I do have a few favoured 'looks' that I work towards.

Quick spin around Glenlivet after work on Friday with a work colleague who has just started mountain biking. When I say quick, I mean pretty slow, but he did well and managed all the climbs........he nearly puked though 😆

Solo on Millstone and Bennachie for me today trying very hard to go fast and realising I may have reached my descending limits, I seem to have plateaued and just cannot go any faster 😕

Drumtochty or Scolty Hill tomorrow.

Up in Dornoch so headed for the Carbisdale trails, but all the signs have been removed and the trails (if you know where they should be) are very overgrown. Shame. Nice views though 🙂

Bikes fettling day for me. Arrived back from our Alps tour in the early hours. Camper is unpacked, washing is pegged out and just about to start on the bike stuff.
Probably had the best trip we have had if you discount the appalling weather in Millau.
Last ride of the holiday on Friday I face planted on the last decent of the day dropping down into the valley from Verbier so will be going into work in the morning with a black eye, thick lip and all the right-hand side of my face bruised. Not to mention the state that my legs look.

It is just me that gets psyched out by the weather?

Yesterday, got very wet at work, thought nothing of a short extension to commute home.

All this week and last, including today, when it's overcast with threat of light rain (or apparently a chance of thunder, yet to hear any in Southampton) I've sat in the man-cave beating myself up for not applying rule #5 like I did back in Jan/Feb.

My bike riding this was done earlier in the week, as I had some time off work and family stuff going on this weekend... Favourite trip was from a trip inspired by the fact I saw 'Watership Down' was a real place, and Coombe Gibbet not far away.

So jumped on a train to Basingstoke and loaded up the Croix de Fer for a top day out mainly on bridleways; some of it was slow riding, but the big skies were fantastic.

Yesterday was bike tinkering, finally got round to going tubeless.
Today was a couple of hours in Wareham Forest before the rain arrived. Cleaning my bike while it was starting to rain seemed a little "special" but it needed doing...

First trip to the Wyre forest tomorrow.

And much enjoyed it was too. Very like our local woods but bigger. Will definitely be returning to try the trails on a dryer day (damp sniper roots all over the shop today!).

Also, on a return visit I might not be so careless...

Got all set for a local fatty ride including riding the spare tube as I punctured a couple of times in the lakes on Thursday so needed a spare in the rucksack. Opened the garage and the tyre I'd patched up in the lakes was down again. Couldn't be arsed fixing it again so did 25km of just spinning on local bridleways on the FS. No pics.

I managed to get two fantastic rides this weekend. The ones that make your face smile all the way.

Brecon Beacons, The GAP, on Saturday:

And the rocky Princetown Loop. I did The Widowmaker twice, trying different suspension settings... 😆 #fullyrigid
