I have agreed to go to Ikea on sunday and will be particpating in meatballs for tea before heading to .... Cannock in the evening for a twilight ride. My Soul will be sporting a new thomson stem, new much wider carbon handlebars, new xtr rear shifter and new to me Reba Forks (which are a full lb lighter than the Toras they are replacing) Hoping this will make it much easier to manual 😀

Yes, not a weekend shot.

Did my first local loop yesterday evening since last year. It's almost impassible in winter as the muddy is so claggy.

Lovely ride. Strange weather though. It was really hazy and the sunset ended up red. The darkest red I've ever seen, like something from the savanna.

Judging by the picture, you don't seem to need a mudguard

Heading out of Town at 0900 and aiming to hit Hayling Island by 1330 in time for lunch and afternoon of watching the real thing on Eurosport.

I will be posting photos, I've booked the Sun and Sandwiches..

Working all weekend and some family dramas have limited me to an hour here and there on the Turbo. Zwifts new mountain stage is good though.

Another attempt at cracking a local loop challenge, failed again, I just don't have those XC legs (or possibly skill, fitness etc).

Looking forward to some more gravity orientated riding next Easter weekend in Chiang Mai.

Saturday, chilly century (metric) on the road bike. Was very satisfying to take off the full guards at long last.

Sunday, went out for a local loop to see if things were dry yet.

I got dragged to Ikea warrington sunday afternoon but managed a dark loop of Cannock later and had a great time. On my new wider bars and finished with the outside of the my left wrist aching a bit, maybe they are a little too wide.

This was last weekend:

[img] [/img]
Really need to remember to clean the lens after storing the phone in a sweaty back pocket.

Next weekend is 10 days in the Lakes with vast amounts of family. Hopefully I'll get a day pass, toying with Skiddaw/Ullock & Helvellyn/Sticks in one go. Other plan is to ride a lap or two of Whinlatter with jr_bandito#1

Well it's not the weekend but I'm on hols so every days the weekend! Qecp yesterday for the first time in over 15 years (see my gushing post in qecp thread) and then round a wood near my folks I hadn't ridden for a similar amount of time. So good. When I was a teenager it was mostly double track and wide paths like this:

But in the intervening decades lots more single track has appeared, some of it really good. Classic, south east, heathy woodlandy, xc racy style single track, so much fun when ridden fast:

And the beer, bikebuoys favourite:

I was out yesterday at Cannock and will probably go out local on Monday and that's it for me. My mrs is due no2 in early may so my rides will have to lessen in number very soon. 🙁

Still great here. Storm is coming so we sneaked out this morning. Perfect conditions. Even if I did save a front end slide by jamming a pedal into my shin. Better than crashing tho.... blue skies... not seen enough of those this year.

Wind was strong (and cold) enough to discourage me from going too high, so instead I stuck to the forest and tried to check out some new route options. Could have done with the fatbike I was testing out last week really.

Project 417 yesterday.
Lucky enough to get a nice bit of sunshine in the morning followed by a lovely rain storm to cool us off in the afternoon.

It's a nice little place and although the tracks need work and we left feeling a little underwhelmed by how the tracks rode, it has plenty of potential.

We rode from the first uplift to the last so had plenty of fun there. Will definitely be going back.

I love where we live. Inches of rain last night, trails still pretty dry in the 'Glacial Sponge' Malverns

@h4muf... Where is that? There are some sandstone caves near where I grew up (bewdley) and looking at your photo stream, I see a river and a steam train, but it doesn't look right. It has been 25 years since I have been back though.

Four of us left snowy Fairhomes this morning at 9am , 3 returned at 1pm some 20 k short of what we planned after swimming down Spud alley and up Hagg Farm , god it was aweful

The other returned to the car park an hour before us after his pivot bearing collapsed , be a crap weekend tbh ,

Friday big off
Saturday wind cancelled ride and blowout that wouldn't seal

Well I generally enjoyed my weekend

Had a solo ride in the Peak on Friday in glorious weather, went to the Chase early doors on Saturday with the wife and a shortish local road ride on Sunday & Monday.

four days off but i only managed a local saturday morning spin with the dog. I was itching to get out after following the updates from EWS Chile, but slogging it over moorland bogs in 30mph winds didnt really live up to it....

I had a great local ride out last night with my mate, in the dark. Started in the light at 7.30 for the first time since Sept/Oct so it's all good. The trails were trashed after several days of hard rain, rather annoying just as they were drying out.

Friday early morning road ride around Dartmoor

Saturday WDMBC 3rd Cat Circuit Race at Hillingdon. Attacked a bit, missed the break, chased a fair bit and was generally worn out by the end (see above). Windy.

Monday first off-road ride for almost a year around Swinley. The wrist and shoulder held up fine, but the hail and rain made for an interesting ride.

A very mixed weather road ride for me, suffered a hail storm (sore face!) then bright sunshine, then more rain and finally dried out a bit. A good ride, 40 miles or so and I dried out in the end...
