You like cycing in rain right?
It appears there's a window in the rain tomorrow morning so I'm going out local for about 25-30 miles round some lanes and woods.

What are you planning?

Weekend in the Lakes for me, probably ride around Ambleside tomorrow and Grisdale on Sunday, should be interesting given the forecast.

Just looking at forecast... there's a yellow warning for wind for most of the UK tomorrow 4am-midnight. Should be fun 😕

Saturday - no idea, might go and wind up the the Laser sailors at their open meeting in the Blaze if they're ashore due to 'too much wind'.

Sunday - as above and hoping the race officer doesn't set us a W/L course.

Going off two weeks ago I'd take the canoe option.

We did actually take our Kayak to Keswick two weeks back. Unfortunately we couldn't reach any of the launch sites due to flooding.

Did a moderate pace hill climbing session this afternoon in the sunshine, tomorrow looks like being pretty direct commutes both ways in the wind and rain, not sure if I could cope with bus chaos!

Was going to do a solo night ride ( Bolts Law ) Northumberland yesterday ..but setting off in daylight ..
Appointment took longer than anticipated so had to knock it on the head ..
No ride today ( attending a wedding reception later) ...
Maybe if I'm not feeling too rough tomorrow afternoon a Kielder ride to involve a return in the dark ..( that could be a big "if " though )..
Good luck to all in the south & west.. 😯 !

Found an old thread on here about riding round Kinver Edge area, so put together the makings of a loop and knocked out a 22 miler with only a couple of shit bits. Never ridden there before so really enjoyed it.
Went and found the freeride park too and got some sick airtime.
Mint day and mostly seemed to avoid Brian.

I've got 13 riders signed up for my Fat Lad at the Back pootle from Barton Marina to the café at Hicks Lodge and back tomorrow morning - looks like we should be setting off as the rain blows through.

I've only ridden laggan once, I'd probably agree bestest trail centre - that I've ridden anyway. I rode here:

My rear hub packed in & turned fixie on me. Planned a 30 miler cut down to 16. bahhh! Was nice enough out though. I love the solitude that cycling gives me, after a week in a busy & loud office it's welcome.

Weekend of two half's weather wise, Saturdays ride round Ambleside had light winds, dryish trails and the rain held off. This mornings ride around Grizedale had strong windy, rain and the trails were like streams, absolutely soaked to the skin.

I had a weird one. Drove 3 hours to the last remaining open bike park in Sweden, saw Sam Pilgrim there , had a brilliant day but then saw one of the worst crashes I've seen, which shook me up a lot. . Hope the dude is ok.

Aftermath on this video , kind of.

But surely not as wet as our ride around Hawkshead trails a year or so back Windy ..?
Still goes down as my wettest ride ever...and lucky to escape the area to get home after .
I didn't get out in the end ..too much drink last night ..I don't go out too often so make the most of it when I do .. 😕
Hopefully tomorrow ...

Not far off Hodgy, the rain wasn't as heavy but the trails were a lot wetter.

A local 50km this morning. Both rides were in the dry, although there was a - erm - slight breeze blowing this morning as I rode past the turnip harvesting.

Great pics Rich. That first one is a great composition with the mountains. Epic crossing and the lengths we go for the ride. Worthy of a magazine entry, maybe the mag should start a reader's wives pic section, as it were.

This is the start of the real riding season in Honkers as the weather starts to get bearable for long days out in the saddle.
Had a pleasant 45km loop out on Lantau with another STWer (even met another on semi-post ride drinks), got me in the mood for Chiang Mai on Wednesday.

Headed up to the Forest Of Dean again yesterday for the 2nd week running. Getting to know a new bike which made me have a fail on the roll out to the fire road above Launchpad. Plenty of helpful folks offered encouragement but it was a complete mental block. Went back to it later once I'd got a bit more used to the bike and nailed it first time - it really isn't anything complicated either.

Obligatory new bike pictures

I raced my first 'cross race since the 3 Peaks & a Grade 2 ACJ separation, didn't do too badly. Mini me No.1 was mega again in the U8's, 3rd 11th place finish of the season - rather good considering he's 5 8)

Headed east to avoid the rain if not the wind. The fat bikes got a ride out on the beaches between Spurn Point and Withernsea.
