Up at 4am and headed up to the Cairngorms for a double Munro ride.  Mullach Chlach a Bhlair and Sgor Gaoith can be ridden top to bottom with hike a bike involved.   However, I did walk with the bike for some parts as I’m not what you would call fit.  We parked at the bottom of the decent we were going to take and rode the 5 or so miles to the start of the Mullach ascent.

vid - its long and probably quite boring but the decent was bloody amazing.

The first part of the transition is tarmac before changing to groomed single track.

Mathew here is on an ebike which went up the climb effortlessly.

This is at the start of the climb up

being unfit allows you camera breaks.

At the summit of Mullach Chlack a Bhlair.  The views were awesome

There were a few wee streams to cross on the ride.  This is on the way over to Sgor Gaoith

Wee cairns let you know where to leave the road to head over to Sgor Gaoith.  The path isn’t that difficult to see at the moment.

Holidays are nearly over, most of the tourists have gone home. Waves are back.

First trip to 'degla for a while today. Great fun (apart from throwing a chain for the first time in ages) and grabbed a few PRs, so happy with that before I go back to work tomorrow.

6am start for a solo road ride yesterday morning, lovely still conditions although a bit too chilly until the sun really got up above the houses.

Have had LittleMissMomo out in the weeride today, but only going 3 miles each way to visit grandma.

If you stay on the actual track whilst descending it helps stop singletrack turning into double/triple/20ft wide track.

Nothing too exciting here but after an action packed morning of visting Carreg Cennen castle and catching the Tour of Britain roll through Llandeilo the wife kindly offered to take our 4 month old for a walk in the pram around Glyncorrwyg on the way to back to Cardiff. Smashed out a quick for me lap of whites level in under 1.5 hours - great way to spend NZ Father's Day:

Poah, looks like a great day out. Nice one.

No riding for me last few weeks as both parents have been in and out of hospital having a competition to see who can die first.

Took advantage of yet more pleasant weather to ride a few new tracks. Took the "cairngorm loop" south from Tomintoul then looped back over the hills to make a pleasant 20 mile route with only just over 2,000 foot of climbing. Tracks all turned out to be quite tame. Nothing wrong with that though and it was a geat day in the hills. Had to ride through a herd of highland cows in the woods, which was a bit hairy (as were they).

No prizes for guessing where this is taken.  I haven't ridden in the Peak District for so long and I'd forgotten how much fun it is.
