We have just arrived at Lee Quarry for the last round of the PMBA Enduro Series. Its raining and the 60 miles drive to get here wasnt too bad compared to the 1200 miles we drove on Monday to get back from the EWS in Finale.

Missed the Swinley ride so decided to do a ride of my own.  I got very wet later...

Penultimate day of the season here in the swedish mountains. For good reason, it was carnage!  😁

I was blessed with a clear summit and beautiful crisp autumn sunshine all the way up Skiddaw yesterday.

Then up Walla Crag again in the evening.

Where shall I ride today before home? Round Coniston or Whinlatter?

Of those two, Coniston, definitely.  Did the route you were asking about, more or less, yesterday, and it was running very nicely. bit splashy in places.

PS Parkamoor Nibthwaite is still intact, despite rumours of its sanitisation. Including most of the massive water trenches, sadly.

And I even got thanked by a member of the in situ Kankku 4x4 team for letting them past. Nearly fell off my bike in shock.

I’ve been suffering from killer DOMS this week, so just did a local MTB bridleway soon to loosen up the legs yesterday.

Rode with my boozer’s road club today, 55km round Rawtenstall and over the moors, passing the Enduro at Lee Quarry on the way back. Ace cold ride.

No riding, just walking and running... But the view is not bad.

Classic Black mountains loop. Great conditions, lovely colours. Took the hardtail 🙂

It's Walla Crag mcnulty, bit o' cheek above Keswick.

Today I did Coniston before home. Spectacular weekend in the lakes.

I managed  down to Drumlanrig for only the second time this year, trails were running great aside from a couple of large trees still down from the storm last week. It was a stunning Autumn day, compared to today which has been a stinker..so I bailed on the SMBO thing at Mugdock.

Dad duties yesterday meant a solo ride this afternoon..

The wind in Bellingham when setting off was a mere breeze ..so it came as a bit of a shock when stepping out of the car 30 miles down the road to find what is described as a moderate gale blowing straight down my throat from the S.West..my least favourite conditions for riding ( and probably yours too !?)

If it had been blowing from any other direction I might well have called it a day there and then ..but from knowing the trail rather well and as it was an out & back ride ( Bolts Law) ..the return would be a high speed blast with the wind on my back ...and so it turned out ..2hours to the top which is at least double the normal time ..25 mins back with hardly a need to turn a pedal ..fantastic !

Well worth the effort for the descent that followed ..

Spurned the wonderful weather yesterday and this morning in favour of cutting up a tonne of logs and riding back from tarn hows into the teeth of a Gale with matching driving rain. Bag of shite.

Excellent weekend up at Lee Quarry for the last in the PMBA series. The rain stopped in the early hours of Saturday morning for 270 riders to practice with a full day on Sunday with stages shared between Lee Quarry and Havoc Bike Park.

Sun stayed out all day but it was cold watching at the top. Managed to have a mess on the E bike between watching the riders

I had a challenging visit to Afan, either it's getting harder or I'm getting older . Good fun though. - One of our party had a nasty off and will look like John Merrick for a couple of weeks. 🙁

Racing at the excellent Tide 2 Tide in Pembury, South Wales.  Best mountain bike event I've done in a long time with lots of swoopy singletrack, and a ride on the beach 🙂
