Went out to set up the new bike so did some sessioning on the Langsett side of Cutgate to do some fine tunning before Abigale goes out to the Alps, going to have to wait till she gets back before I can throw my leg over it.

Just rode into Leeds to pay some money into the bank today. Pretty boring really, so I'll post a pic of yesterday's skate with my daughter!!

Zoe has just finished Couch to 5k but has got a slight attack of shin splints, so following a trip to the sports physio she's on a bike for the next couple of weeks. Quick spin around the fire roads this morning. First time properly on her bike for about 5 years. Good job I'm an inveterate tinkerer and serviced it a few weeks back...

I drove over to Torridon after nightshift on Friday morning, got a few hours sleep and then rode the lollipop route. We got the ride and visit to the pub just before the weather turned 😀.
I won't be doing the lollipop ride again, the added push/climb is no longer worth the bother as the descent from the Bealach is a washed out mess.
The descent to Achnashellach is still as good as ever.

Oh no, that was just as good as the lower part of the descent before IMO.

I'll still have to check it out for myself if I make it up there this autumn anyway

Had a good day at Glanlivet on Friday, theres usually only a handful of cars there but I'd guess there was close to 40.

it was absolutely roasting (for me anyway) did the red and a couple of runs of the new orange which confirmed to me I cant jump a bike to save my life

Short early morning spin resulted in a dead front shifter (apparently quite common with 105/R7000). Just in time for a big week riding up north!

Bike in stand waiting for emergency replacements ordered from Wiggle, praying MyHermes deliver on time, their track record in last few weeks hasn't been great ☹

Knocked off a couple more of the "100 Greatest Climbs of the Tour de France" before heading back to Blighty. Trying to ride all 100 has taken us to areas of France we had never heard of, let alone planned to visit.

This is the stunningly pretty Col Du Noyer.

An easy Where's Wally.

Mr TW's bike enjoys the view. I didn't get a picture of mine as it was so windy. I was too scared to let go of it in case it was literally blown away.

God joins in with Where's Wally.

An easy couple of short rides to and from a bivy in the Dales.

bivy

Enlivened during the evening by a horny bull who decided he didn't want to be with the cows he was with but the ladeez on the fell so jumped out of the field he was in to another. From here he still couldn't get to the ladeez so wandered around making lots of noise. It was at this point that we realised that there was no gate between the field he was now in and the wood we'd camped in! This morning he was back with his own girls.

And just to prove we do belong here. A couple of mtb ones, although they are from mid week.

Edit - kudos to Piesoup. What a ride!

53km of delightful Stirling and Perthshire roads and a couple of gravel sections. Awful weather for half of it, great weather for the other half.

It was ace.
The start of a 5km downhill float.

Spot the Osprey and it's nest.

Haha! You're not wrong.
Got some bad news in the family so I knocked up a route and opened a donation page. I set out to complete it in 30 Hours, came in in just over 28.5.
Feeling it now!

Three rides in one day for me today.

Usual Sunday spin round the woods.

[img] [/img]

Then finally finished the RocketMAX build (got the frame for my birthday in February!) and it got very quick spin round the village just to make sure nothing obvious was going to fall off.

[img] [/img]

And the dog was up for a shower dodging harness run round the woods this afternoon (to be fair he rarely requires much persuading).

@roverpig where's that? looks stunning!

40k gravel ride yesterday for me, quick snap in some local ancient woods - there's apparently some highland cattle in here, or velociraptors. Given that I've never seen the highland cattle, I'm going with velociraptors. 6ft high ferns, strange marks on trees, signs telling people to keep their dogs on a lead...

Thanks @ta11pau1 It was a loop starting from Ben Rinnes (near Dufftown) and trying to take in the spur of the Speyside way that goes from Ballindalloch down to Tomintoul. Pictures can be deceptive though as there was a fair bit of pushing and I took to the road for the last part. As you say, it's amazing scenery to be in though and I doubt I'd have faired any better on the MTB. The spin back to Dufftown taking in some woodland tracks was a lot more fun on the gravel thing too.

That pic got me nostalgic, so reminds me of the shots my dad used to take of us out in the Lakes walking. Even the clothes could pass for 70s vintage at a push. Lovely stuff.

I've only just came out of hibernation this year. I got injured in a tiny car crash last July and the pain and physiotherapy dragged on right through winter. Just as I was ready to get back on it lockdown happened.

Really enjoying the jump bike at the minute. Spoiled for choice of places to ride it in Sheffield but I haven't graduated to anything big yet.

I really need to get the big bike out and blow the dust off.

Afternoon ride yesterday, man it was humid. We attempted a route that we have managed to fail twice, once due to lost Garmin and this time, just navigation fail. Funny thing was, due to the fail, we found this amazing footpath (oops) called the Zip Zags, which had switchback steps, must've been 20 switchbacks. Crazy to find in Hampshire, I walked most of it, 29er wheels couldn't get round the bends (my excuse, sticking etc).
Kid rode it, only fell off once. Brilliant fun 😀
Here he is earlier in the ride, with another bizarre sight, acres of sunflowers. Only one would pose for me (2nd pic) 😆

I rode a loop round the Purbecks on Saturday, was wet and windy with very few views due to the low cloud. Fun was had on the Stooge though.

Got thoroughly lost somehow but I did come across some planning notices which turned out to be for a traffic free route between Missenden & Wendover 👍
