perishing bloody cold, can't stand it, it zaps the fun out of the ride sometimes. I can only get out after dark at the mo so it's rubbish. Sunday looks like the least coldest out of the two so I'll try and convince my mate into a Cannock dark & cold ride for then.

Rode this morning for an hour on the susser doing a bit of exploring and will ride Saturday and Sunday on the gravel bike. Trails are unbelievably good at the moment. Sure its cold, but the ground is a bit soft on top then firm underneath. As good as any other time of the year. I'm in South East Dorset by the way.

Did Ben Avon, decent weather. Might go back and have a rummage about near Lochnagar on Sunday if the wind stays away.

It'll be the Cotswolds #Jennride on Sunday for me, probably not as filthy now as I'd hoped for, and probably not frozen.

QECP tomorrow for me. Don't think it'll be fully frozen but hopefully firm under wheel.

I got out on the mountain bike for the first time in 18 months, had a spin around Rivi.
It was a nice change from the road bike or Gravel bike rides I usually do.

Road ride today in the flat SE of England - 500m climbing in the first 20k! Not too cold, but leaving the log burner at the cafe stop it took a while to warm up again.

First mountain bike ride in Dorset as I was taking my daughter back to Bournmouth. Along the ridge from Corfe castle to old Harry's Rocks back through the heath by Poole Harbour

I could do with being fitter but I assume riding my bike will help with that

Went to Afan for a solo this morning,

Rode Y Wal, conditions were perfect, despite a short diversion it was mint.

I liked it so much I rode straight into Penhydd.

I liked it so much I went back up and rode Blue Scar.

I’m shattered now, but was a great day out.

Did a loop above Derwent before a spot of late lunch in the Ladybower Inn.
Trails were surprisingly dry. Loads out walking but didn't see many on bikes.

I was going to visit Cannock, but when I left the house the temp was -4c so I headed south to FOD in search of warmer climes; A nice crisp 0c. Very few people there when I arrived, just getting light at 8am. Lots of squirrels and deer foraging but no sign of a Boar.

Some great photos on this thread. As an ex Chiltern rider tho, I’m struggling to process “January" and "Dry trails" 🙂

We rode the Gorlech and the Raven at Brechfa forest. It’s a good day out that. Pics were a bit rubbish but we were very happy. Especially as the pub now offers home cooked sausage rolls!

Classic route round Conwy and The Drum. Great views in the sunshine but a touch chilly here and there. Hardly anyone out, think we saw a dozen people

A loop done on our fat bikes from Hetton up on to Weets Top, on to Mastiles, Street Gate, over to Arncliffe, a bit of road to Kilnsey then back to Hetton via Threshfield and Boss Moors.

Everything is really dry, not dusty obviously but some of the becks are either very low or empty. Only saw three other bikers: two on MTBs and one on a CX - he passed us heading over to Arncliffe. Arncliffe Cote is as dry as in a normal summer.

Nice pics – how was the climb/decent?

The climb isn't too bad all told, slugain is straightforward long grind except a small rough section near the hunting lodge that needed some pushing, dumped the bike on the turn off to the sneck as there was a fair bit of ice and compacted snow that could barely cross on foot. Made the mistake on the way down of choosing the fairly glen (steep loose bouldery rubble) instead of keeping to the high route but can't hey can't grumble about a 13k descent on a sunny day

Local rides here in the family.
I had a slippery slidery session with youngest_oab practicing some of the most slippery and awkward local drops and climbs. Good fun, but by heck it was slippy.
Did I mention the slippery mud and roots?
