Couldn't see a thread already.

Two quick rides last night and this afternoon. Dodging showers on both. Local off-piste trails starting to get a bit sloppy - normal service resumed.

First ride in a while, rolled around the canals and woods on Manchester avoiding park run and the spatially unaware dog walkers

Winter is coming, so time to dig out the fat bike and enjoy a bumble on some forest tracks in the late autumn sunshine

Chopwell Woods yesterday ..tbh its the first time we ( thats including 3 others) have spent extended time exploring there ..and were quite taken with the place .

There is so much more to " find" as there are trails leading off all over the place ..

The carpet of golden leaves covering just about every trail was fantastic ..but threw up a few surprises ..

No pics though ..

Does ~8 miles on an Apollo Elyse around Birkenhead Park count, seeing how my sister's ~17Kg sit up and beg BSO with panniers rides, after fixing a puncture and doing some basic fettling? 😆

Can't upload the shortened Ghostracer Pro recording on my Sony Smart Watch 3 until I get back to Southampton!

Most of the ard rock marathon route in Swaledale. Started pissing it down halfway up the climb to Apedale so cut that last bit off. Don't know how they were measuring the mileage, as the full course can't be more than 30, rather than the claimed 40.

Epic day as Sherwood Pines with Couchie and Crust. Spent the morning chasing Couch on the electric bike. I can't put into words just how fast them things are, uphill it's an absolute beast, flat speed they accelerate like a rocket ship, touch the pedals and Boom! Gone! The standard edition bike behind then has to go nuts to even keep up, let alone anything else.

Give him his due, for the time he's been riding, he can ride well! But them bikes, just fast fast fast!

Crust did incredible, our waiting time was less than I expected for sure.

Muddy, messy and very very happy!

Lots of cake!!!!

I did 33 miles on the Gravel bike yesterday, quiet backroads & Leeds Liverpool canal towpath.

[img] [/img].

It's been raining early morning & drizzling since, now the sun's shining so I'll get out this afternoon, ride to the beach on the gravel bike or take the road bike out if the puddles dry out...

@martinhutch - got a bit damp this morning didn't it?

We were coming back over Fleet Moss having bivvied out last night. Out on the fat bikes. Did Buckden - Stake Moss then a new to me BW to Thornton Rusk (just caught this in time, it's wet on the surface but not boggy), Aysgarth, Caperby, BW to Askrigg, Bainbridge. Bivvied next to the Roman Road. This morning it was up the Roman Road to the top of Fleet Moss, round to Cam Head and down to Ling Gill then back through the woods in Langstrothdale and road back to Buckden.

With sod all climbing after Cam Head we were soaked and chuffin' frozen by the time we got back to the car.

We saw just two other mountain bikers all weekend.

Morning ride at Culloden this morning. Stopped at 11am to think about those who had walked over this land and died at the Battle of Culloden, as well as all who have sacrificed throughout history.

Had two weeks off due to a new tattoo, so did a 27km road ride round Saddleworth yesterday. Club ride this morning was a full Rule 9 road ride over to Holmfirth up the Isle of Skye road. I got some savage cramp in the way home, but otherwise a decent wet, windy day out.

Crashed more on this ride than the whole summer. Trails have that soft top layer but still hard underneath. Time to brush off the mud skills!

Got completely drowned on simple XC Dumgoyne loop, not ridden in a few weeks. It was fun...until the last 30mins when i'd just had enough of the wet stuff falling form the sky. Got cramp in the car on my way home as well.

Happy the Met Office were wrong this morning and the rain didn't come. Local trails still slimy and deteriorating but at least I stayed dry and dirty...

On Friday, I finished early and went for a blast at Swinley before sunset. Fabulous, somehow it was just working, rolling, flowing, despite me being knackered from a long week I was pushing hard and buzzing. Mostly just the official blue and red, with a brief foray off piste. Loved it, amazing how sometimes biking is just so good even though you've ridden a trail hundreds of times. Even spent time cleaning the bike properly afterwards, as its done a few rides since I last did anything!

Yesterday, mate messaged me in the morning, taking the family over to Swinley. I thought, oh, well, always nice just to bimble around with friends and their kids, despite having gone there the day before. Message, "running late". Oh well, I'll do a quick blue while waiting. Heavens open. Properly. For 45 minutes. Blue took 41 minutes, chucking it down the whole time. Slipping on the "ginge", couldn't see anything thanks to prescription glasses covered in mist on the inside and rain on the outside. Not much fun at all, but still, I was out there. Then, 4 years of sweat started to wash from the helmet pads directly into my right eye. So now reduced to one eye, looking through a misty lens with rain on it. Somehow made it round, still enjoying the last few blue descents. Rain stops immediately I finish. Mate and family waiting in the car park. None of us fancy it, as the rain radar says more to come, and I was frickin' soaked and cold. Muddy bike, cleaned yesterday, chucked rapidly into boot, where it still is. Head for the cafe for the usual worst coffee in Britain. At least I got 40 mins in, they drove 2 hours for bu88er all!

Today, I went canoeing.

A weekend of contrasts. Gotta love it.

Yesterday we did Stanage loop for a mate to demo a Sonder Evol.  Good fun and only just caught the rain in the last 5 or 10 mins.

Today a couple of us just messed about for an hour or two when the sun came out for a bit.

Good times.

An abandoned helicopter of course!

A few of us went to Nant yr Arian for a change. Dodged a few showers around the Summit trail.

stopped half way down Mark of Zorrow for the 11am silence which was cool.

makes a change from the natural trails round here and it's only 50 minutes drive away.

was surprisingly quiet for a sunday

Cheers.

Gloves were left like that on the edge of an area the FC have just cleared as a turning circle for logging trucks/machines. I'm slowly compiling a loose series of pictures of stuff people have left in the local woods.

Did a loop of the Black Mountains from Crickhowell Sunday. Hail, freezing rain, sunshine and gales in continuous rotation. Lovely brisk day out.

No riding again this weekend. Although I did managed to re-attach the derailleur hanger with new bolts and thread lock. Must have been running with it like that for a while, as the paint has rubbed off on one of the chain stays. 🤔

Marked all the spots on both tyres that were weeping sealant. Decided to start fixing the front tyre first, removed three massive thorns and patched five holes, before running out of patches. Still got four to five weeping spots on just the front tyre, so need to buy a job lot of patches from somewhere to get them all fixed.
