Weekend ride pics thread

29 years since I rode this route. On a rigid Al Carter 26" ride with canti's.
So I went back with another rigid bike.
A bit drafty.
Loch an Eilein, Loch Eanaich, Loch Morlich.

*Wink*

I was considering braking uphill at one point - and I wasn't pedalling!

went to Forest of Ae with a couple of friends. Lasted 1.5 trails before I went OTB and hurt my hand. The two trails I rode were pretty full on for my skill level.

Always fun at Bowhill. Found this trail a while ago but don't ride it as no one else likes it. Bloody good fun.

 ride on the Druid V2.

I had a ride on two Druid V2's today.

An S3 and an S4.

I seem to be slightly in between sizes

S4 felt huge.

S3 felt a little short but better than the S4

Rear end feels really nice though.

A quick one at Drumtochty forest yesterday and a big one in the hills today.

Tarfside, over Mount Keen, down to Aboyne and then back to Tarfside. 35 miles and about 6000ft of climbing. Legs are tender now.

I had a ride on two Druid V2’s today.

It's all relative innit. 500mm reach on the S4 is shorter than my 2 previous bikes so it feels pretty compact but I can still stand up and monster truck over stuff.

Wasn't much of a challenge today, I'll have to find some really chunky stuff. Rear end does feel promising though.

I really must go out on the MTB again soon.

But this morning was lovely. Hundreds of cyclists out around the Cheshire lanes, the good weather has brought out the hordes.

There was ice cream as well when this was taken, but I couldn't work out a sensible way to get that into the pic at the same time. Cherry flavour, mmmmmmm

@sharkattack

Its shorter than the bike I'm looking at replacing too but due to the much higher stack felt ****ing huge.

It just means I can take a break from my usual 40 or 50mm rise bars!

Have another picture so I'm not just totally derailing the thread...

Full rebuild of the ebike - bearings, motor refurb, fork and shock been off to TF Tuned, some new decals too. Drivetrain needs a bit of an upgrade - parts en route. Used a hanger alignment tool for the first time yesterday - couldn't believe how off it was. First time out on it in a couple or three months, was the most beautiful conditions.

Had to remind myself to go and take a route that I wouldn't normally do on the HT. Same local bits just more tagged together than I'd do under leg power20240811_115931~2

Nice spin along the normal Eastern Moors route, but with a short detour up to Lady Cannings. Was definitely on the warm side from around 2pm, drank about 1.5l of water whilst I was out ? lovely though and great to clear the head.

Last weekend was school mtb race on Thursday for my kids followed by Saturday short course enduro at our local trails. I marshalled on Saturday. Atmosphere was superb and it was incredible seeing how quick they are getting. One of the elite riders was a  national pump track champion and the best U17s were beating him.

It was way too hot for me to try anything strenuous on my mountain bike yesterday. So instead, we tootled along the canal to see the horsies and have ice-cream. It was lovely.

Thought I'd take the gravel bike out, pretty good fun although seemed to be lots of climbing (705m in 42km). This bridge was deeper in water than the burn it crossed.

Bit of an epic Sunday. Hike-a-bike to a remote loch, squabbling peregrines, golden sands, fishing, chunky descending and watched over by a soaring eagle. And all this in the "lowlands" of Southern Scotland.
