Up early for a ride up onto Cutgate to get back in time for the WC DH.

Dry, warm and dusty. Perfect conditions

Standard spin around Curbar on the new bike this afternoon. Was gloriously sunny to start, but ended up grey. Still, great to get out.

Sophie did 22 miles today. Her longest ever ride.

wee sprint to 20mph.

Renfrewshire council redid the pavement round the airport and made it a cycle path too. Shame about this idiot.

battered around my local flat as a pancake woods this morning on the first solo ride I’ve had in a long time. Was nice to get some headspace after an eventful week at work and also just focus on a ride.

I'm dahn sarf visiting friends. Steeps, jumps and drops in the local woods.

On the eeb for the first time in ages and ages.

This photo is probably the least sendy bit of the whole ride!

Great fun but wrote off the rear rim on a massive case onto a log.

Did a solo loop south of home, just fringing on the Peak and just about avoiding the crowds of Chatsworth show. Took the single speed out for the first time in ages and really enjoyed it apart from the mysterious creak it’s now developed.

Rubbish pics, but High Tor, Black Rocks - Black Rocks is ace, rocky tech at the top, loamy steeps at the bottom

Off to Molini next Saturday. Between now and then I need to restore right elbow to working order. Tendonitis not compatible with six days uplifted riding 🙁 So only cleaned the bike ready to put it in the bag.

Some great pics ^^ - very jealous!

Hebden bridge to Glossop by scapegoat hill, wessenden head, Holme moss, tpt and back by canal/Pennine bridleway and some awful roads between Hadfield and stalybridge. Beautiful day, not too hot.

Rather than the usual weekend bash round Hamsterley, I've gone to the other side of the world.

No actual riding pictures because of how wet it was. There's a typhoon close by but I judged it as good enough to go out. Stuck with the easy run as well as it was really slippery. This one is the Fujimi Panorama bike park which is the main one in Japan.

Uplift:PXL_20240831_013655673

Bear warning:

Then the weather came in:

After a few runs:

PXL_20240831_032706056

Luckily they have a really good bike wash facility:

PXL_20240831_050400056

This one is about 2 hours drive from where I'm staying. There's smaller one about an hour away which I'm going to try next time. Also found a really good local bike shop who sorted my slightly leaky tubeless setup and some brake pads that I worn out from yesterday.

Sadly, not a great deal.  Just in time for the first decent weekend weather wise in Glasgow for weeks.

Not grumpy - honest.

Took my youngest to Swinley on Saturday to do a loop of the red route, we stopped so she could session the ‘drops’ which she’d not done before, about 10 runs later she was flying down!

25 miles and 1300m of ascent at Staunton on the Rail on Saturday. Rode a few trails I haven't seen before and nearly ruined my under crackers on one of them...

A nice cafe stop with ice cream was most welcome.

I've been for 3 rides this weekend - trying to eke out the last of the summer holidays!

Singlespeeding around the Otter valley.

And I just got back from a 90km gravel ride, but it was misty and drizzly, so no pics.

Bit of Windhill, lap of Longeleat (saw Chris Smith and his lad outside the main house) and Shearwater, then a stop for refreshments at Compton Abbas on the way home.

There were no trees when I visited, may 27 years ago?

Maybe share your pic with IWM.

Friday counts as the weekend right?

Had an enjoyable evening gravel ride (and a fair chunk of tarmac) around Loch Katrine. Was just perfect weather and temperature wise.

Not grumpy – honest.

You're not alone, we've all had Covid again too.

I had to make do with cutting my steerer to lower my stem and degreasing/lubing my drivetrain.

Feel a bit better today so hopefully I'll get out for a ride during the week.

I love quirky bikes and picked this folder up.
Interesting riding characteristics would be an understatement. It’s equal parts terrifying and fun. It’s also got a 3 speed Sturmy Archer. Balance bike for scale..
