https://twitter.com/LakesWeather/status/936294926857523200

is fairly self explanatory.

Don't know where the exact snowline is, locals will advise no doubt.

PS Grizedale area is affected by the Stages (Car) Rally, with lots of closures in the forest, in case that was your Plan B.

Just back from 2 days riding - 8000 feet elevation climbed over two rides and 60 miles.

Trail conditions are muddy with lots of puddles to wet your feet. There is also an icy wind that gets to you as soon as you stop.

Go ride, don't let anything put you off! Just set off very early in the morning as you don't want to be running out of daylight

It is really trippy as the loose rocks are set like stiff flapjack and give maximum traction. Raise was a horror last night with the wind, but the snow was firm and filled in a few gaps. Sticks pass was dicey.
