Early start for us today.
Timing it just right for it to be light enough in the trees for the first descent.

Show us your pics.

Looks dry Stu!

I went running. You clearly had a better time (x10) than I did.

Still first run in three years and I'm still alive, so I'm taking that as a win 🙂

@Alex.
It was surprisingly dry yes.
Totally unexpected after all the rain we've had.😁

No pics - today's 'we might get away with it' became 'that's a lot of rain, 4*c colder suddenly, mrs_oab had summer gloves and shoes on (!) and we're 12 miles from home'...

Pretty miserable.

Ah well, tonight I'm planning the late summer Moray triangle ride with friends hoping for better weather then...

Managed an hour between downpours, 4 laps of a local track, 300ft, 1/2 mile road climb, then a 280ft, 0.3 mile DH.

Short, morning tootle on some of the local paths to test out my new tubeless wheels and tyres. Needless to say, there is work required to keep the bloody tyres inflated 😭😂

Sorry, not sorry. Remarkably good conditions in La Plagne for a cheeky weekend skiing. Talk of disastrous conditions may be true in other parts of the alps but not in the Tarantaise.

I've had a shit day fixing the man cave roof in the rain, which blew off last night. It was however punctuated by 90 mins of goodness on this:

Last week was un-intentional new bike week. Some will know I'been pondering about a new road bike for ages, and also I have a history with the brand so when this actual bike came up on a "nearly new" offer in my size with the exact spec I'd been looking for, heart ruled head.

I cannot begin to describe how well it rides, just like that review I found it smooth and very easy to keep up to speed once it was wound up. This is going to be a long and beautiful relationship.

My link from Flickr worked! Pedalled for about 3 hours today. Really a gravel ride. No cafe hence double mugs for coffee and risotto. A very heavy shower meant that I went numb below the knee at the end. That made the ride a bit harder

Same issue for me. the forecast for today was horrid but it never materialised so I headed out on a local loop around 1pm. Was fine until I got to the decent bit where the weather decided to throw a load of rain and hail at me all the way along the offroad section. Of course the second I rejoined the tarmac it stopped. So phone stayed in my pocket the whole ride as pictures of the road bits really aren't required!

Still, good to get the first IRL ride ticked off and keeps my New Year Resolution good of 1 hour minimum outside on the bike per week in addition to two training sessions on Zwift.

I'm still (VERY) slowly recovering from Covid, so had a gentle pootle around the local forest with MrsReady - just before the rain!

Looking over at Saddleback and Blencathra from the old coach road. Not the weekend, but last Wednesday as it was the only time it had stopped raining last week. It was absolutely bloody freezing!! I had a couple of dicey moments on black ice

D'oh! I meant Skiddaw and Blencathra, obvs

A nice route for when you're setting off and its -2. I've never been so happy to see a 4x4. A 'lets off road' Defender came down the bridleway and had helpfully smashed the ice all the way along it. I could have kissed him, as by that point I was starting to think that this definitely wasn't one of my better ideas 😀
