A beautiful ride around Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham today on the fatty.
Weather looked pretty gnarly on the way but the sunshine broke through and it was fantastic.
Cheltenham below
Weather moving away to make room for different weather.
Final descent back into Cheltenham was ridiculous on a rigid fatbike! 😂
I miss my dune 🙁
Not a riding pic as off to Spain next Saturday. Due to me being entirely un-upgradable, I treated the bike to a new fork, rear tyre and fresh set of bearings.
I give you the "SlackMo" 🙂
It even fits in the bag
4000kms ridden, 3.5 years old, only original parts are the frame, shock (rebuilt twice) and bar. It's not had an easy life and still looks good (to me anyway).
Even when enslackened it's only 32.9lbs most of which I think is in that Big Betty 2.6 on the back!
Turned out a nice day in Cheltenham after 5hrs of rain in the small hours not that I heard it just saw the results on the road did a road ride instead over Tewkesbury way some roads were bit flooded got the fattie ready.
Sunny afternoon round the Purbecks, and tick over 1/4 million feet of elevation for the year.
Meanwhile in Stroud I set off around 2pm in fantastic autumn sunshine only to receive an absolute downpour of rather cold rain half way through my ride. First time in ages I've had cold water seeping into my shoes. Struggled to keep warm after the soaking so headed home.
Just been out riding and got back home to see The Dutchess of Southerland steam train go past my garden at full chat up the Lickey incline with the fire box open making the footplate glow bright red was an amazing thing to see! Awful picture though 😄

It wasn't really the weekend, but given that Alex's pictures don't even involve cycling, I think I'm allowed:
Me and t'missus did a short loop round Grizedale in some serious rain. I decided to wear my kayaking dry cag and vest, which kept me lovely and dry for a fair while
I'd never done Loughrigg terrace before last week! Did it on Tuesday (ish) and it looked like it might be ok under the right conditions. Lo and behold, two days later the right conditions arrived... torrential rain had put most of the ramblers off and we had an outstanding session on it. Loads of fun
The road section by Rydal was a bit spicy. Was a case of trying to see the double yellow lines through the murk and try not to cycle into the actual river. The wean was well made up as he realised he didn't really need to pedal, just let the current carry him along.
Bit worried about my bearings now though.
Had a good week down on the Purbecks at the start of October lovely area.
@thegeneralist - that looks properly wet!
In my 'not a riding pic' defence, I did calibrate those new forks by riding them down some steps a few times 😉
Turbo this morning. Not going out in that ---> (points to very similar view as RocketDogs)

The mud was pretty full on at Fair City 2021 yesterday..
Same ride, different weather!
On friday i nipped out for my local "over the river and up the hill" ride, and thanks to poor timing, got absolutely soaked. In fact, it's honestly been a long time since i've been that wet on a bike (probably Cadair Idris back in 2018....):

Then today, my timing was perfect, and i dodged the torrential rain and rode in perfect sun and blue sky, all be it with a fair old gale blowing against me:

A man for all seasons as it were 🙂
Got out for a quick local loop on Saturday morning as there was a 2 hour window of decent weather forecast. Did get caught in one small shower as I rode back to the car but other than that it was just getting covered in gloopy mud that was the issue! All the streams were rather full and fast-flowing though.

This one's normally a small trickle even after a few wet days. Another one further round is normally an easy splash through but had to resort to the footbridge as it was flowing fast and well over BB height.
No biking, just biblical amounts of rain most of the weekend in Glenclova and Dundee. Took 14 Boys Brigade with me - some of the P7's this was first ever hill day. Sorry.
Messing around on a little local hill, 100ft from the top down to the river with about 6 turns, but perfect dirt for drifty fun today.
Nice solo 35miler on Saturday before the weather turned.

Another from Cleeve Common.
