Bike's in Cooksons.
If it's fixed I'll be there.
Sue might be up for it, I'll let her know.

Tried that dissused railway in Kearsley yesterday - grimmer than a book of fairytales.

Is this likely to become a regular fixture, and always on a Wednesday? I'd like to come but that's after-work-ride night and I'm leading tomorrow. I'll sack it off one week though for a trip marginally up North, (and east a bit).

Bloody Lewis? Is that the one where Kevin Wheatly gets killed in ever more gruesome circumstances each week for basically being a bit beige?

Wednesday it is then, probably next week.

Hi sorry to hijack but what is the land of HTN, is anyone welcome, what sort of distance are you doing and how hard is the ride?

The Land of HTN is the land on which HTN (Hit the North) happens.

Everyone is welcome.

15 miles give or take.

Quite quick, but not too quick. Nobody gets dropped*.

*unless you are a ####.

Perhaps we should pay a long-overdue visit to the HTN1 Bombhole..

i have my reservations this week, i was far slower than the rest of you last week and there's some even quicker lads coming along tomorrow from the looks of things... it genuinely does worry me that i just can't keep up and hold rides up. i know, this sounds pathetic as anything but yeah (as you know from our chat last week HtS, there's a reason i'm pretty slow/lacking in stamina. i'd love to come along again but i don't want to ruin the ride/feel like crap, you know).

Don't be so bloody soft! You won't spoil anything for anyone. This is a pootle. Dropping anybody on a social is a ####'s trick.

See you at 8:30.

If you want fast go on a training ride with Terrahawk, TwinklyDave and JMCPhil.

Thread Hijack: LOL

MTB race at Leverhulme in Bolton on Thurs. 1st of a 6 series and first at Bolton. Worth a watch - course is v good. Lots of climbs. Riders of all abilities (not quite HTN standards 😀 ..but good nonetheless)

Just thought I'd mention as I know a lot of riders are from around this area (Chorley, Kearsley, Prestwich etc). Worth a look if not riding....maybe ??

(sorry about the Hijack)

No worries. Why not start a thread up for it too and email details to STW to get it on the front page?

cheers. Will see what I can do. have started 2 threads but they died. Lots of crossover from HTN re some of the lads that are riding.

(I was told you were approached by BC re this series but get the feeling that you weren't? )

Thank God for that - We'll form a 'slow is good' splinter group at the back. 🙂 Bringing the big bike again? Fancy a go on that!

What, like that HtN preview ride when you lost half of 'em at the traffic lights, 50 feet from the meeting point? 😀

Conversation between me and Terrahawk...

"If you are at the front and I am at the front who is at the back?"

"Ooops"

There was talk of something in Waterdale but it didn't take off. Fees from local council and FC may have been a bit steep and there are all sorts of issues with path closures.

Jesus, that hurt.
I didn't even have the energy to go for a kebab.
On the upside, I've not enjoyed a pint so much in ages.

The bombhole is fun in the dark, but the thin layer of freshly applied grease made some sections a bit, er, interesting 😯 .

Cheers folks, that was fun.

Bacon now, then bed.

well I tried and I assume DONK told you of my "journey"
I was unable to get there due to the traffic on the MWay [standstill] on exiting the MWay all my Sat nav wanted to do was navigate me back to the mway so i did not know how to get to the other side of that there Manchester* and everntually just gave up thinking i will go home to ride. that was put to bed with some heavy rain

* it cleverly has 2 views, street level for about 250 metres or all of the north west [ may be user ineoptitude as I have never used it before and I am not impressed]

If HtS isn't available next week, I'll lead an earlier ride. What time(ish) suits most.

I'll open the batting with 19:00. Starting and ending at The Church Inn Prestwich,
