Anyone fancy a Wednesday night ride?

Looks like I can make this week and it'll be sunny 😀

Suspect Pentlands will stil be soggy so happy with GT if anyone else fancies it??

Hopefully my last ever driving lesson on Wednesday night so I'm out. Should be game for future wednesday rides though!

Might be up for joining the troops if it is a Pentlands ride. Less likely to be able to make it down to GT for a sensible time.

Another 2 days of sunshine forecast before then so the Pentlands might not be too bad. Was planning on a brisk 30min loop at Bonaly / White Hill tonight so I can see how bad it looks then.

Not looking like a popular option this week!

I'll chuck the bike and gear in the van at work then can do either ride if anyone decides tomorrow.

I'd probably favour GT as I can't see the pentlands being anything but soggy yet!

Me n pixelmix had a chat about this today.

Going to do pentlands. Too skint for fuel to gt this week, got BBQ gas and a rotovator to sort out.

Anyway. Aye, wee pentlands trundle and a pint or 4 in the Spylaw afterwards?

Had a quick spin up Puke Hill and down White Hill earlier. Just the odd puddle between the dusty bits. The obvious areas such as Black Hill are probably best left for a while longer, but the main routes should be fine. See you then.

I'm quite keen to give the legs a spin before the weekend, will see what time I can get out of the orifice

Sounds like we've got a plan!

Stick to the old meeting times? 6.30 Cargo and 7 Bonally?

I'm in! Not this week, or next, or possibly the next two... But after then, every week forever!

I'm better at beer than biking these days, but I'll hopefully be out to play – errant builders and neglected drivetrains allowing.

Great, cheers Mark. Might just pop down to the shop after work or if I'm running late I'll head up to the canal.

For the avoidance of doubt, "the tape" isn't a compilation of cheesy songs popular amongst loved up spotty teenagers in the 90s. At least I don't think it is.

I drove past you lot, think my instructor is getting tired of me giving people the two fingered salute out of the passenger side window. Need to remember not to do it on test!

The dry snacks needed lubrication to go down so we stayed to make sure we were doing it right.

Midge bites are coming along nicely btw.

tbc - you should try using some Smidge. I believe a local bike shop is now selling it.

I am quite enjoying sitting next to 24 bottle of it whilst my arms itch like itchy things. SHOULD have slapped it on last night.

Lovely evening for a ride, a blether and a beer.

Some snaps from along the way...

The repair/drainage clearance work at Clubbiedean from a few weeks back has worked much better than I expected. It might not even need the hardcore treatment we thought it would. A dry line has appeared which should avoid the clarty bit being widened any further.

Tom on the sleeper bridge. Very impressed by his trialsy-hippity-hoppity efforts to clean a impossible looking rooty section later on in the ride. Nobody else even attempted it.

Bowmore and Tangfastic break

A surprisingly dry quad track

One last photo before hooning down scalextric, through the woods at Bonaly and down the steps to the Spylaw Tavern for beer and

I hate missing summer rides, especially those that end in pub.
