As per the title really. I’ve had valuations from them for a couple of bikes that are tempting, but I wondered if it’ll be like ‘we buy any car’ thing - y’know, where they always try and offer way less than the original valuation. Maybe I’m wrong, but I wonder if they work on the principle that the further people have travelled, the more likely they are to take reduced offers(?).

Any reports based on first hand experience appreciated. TIA

Yes.. Mine was, somewhat interesting. Maybe it says as much about me as it did them.

Plenty of chat/talk when i got there, then he started picking "well it's not as nice as the pictures" and "that's not the standard seat" I then took the ar5e with him and said "tell you what mate i'll put it back on the rack and take it home"

"it's OK we can still do the deal at the agreed price"

"nah, don't bother, it's not as nice as you thought, i'll take it home"

I'd honestly just got a bit frustrated as i knew my bike was priced correctly and they made out like they were doing me a favour taking it off me, when in reality it was going to be going out the door for £700-1000 more.

So, we could've done the deal i guess... but he pushed my buttons and that was that, i'm a stubborn bugger when i get to a certain point.

Hmmm….are my wife’s long lost brother?!😉 Well, if we don’t the valuation price, they’re definitely going back in the van. Both bikes are in really good nick, so I’d rather sell them for the same price on here to someone who’s going to use them rather than just immediately sell them on.

My experience is that they offered a price that was 60% lower than the lowest price they could find on the internet, despite it being pretty much unused, totally unmarked & a couple of choice upgrades at the point of sale.

I took it to them & they then offered a lower price again because it was over a month since they sent the initial offer price.

I was a little miffed but couldn’t be bothered trying to sell it elsewhere, so took the money 🤷‍♂️.

To be fair to them don’t think they stuck a big % on top of that price, so wouldn’t have made loads out of it. I suppose they know their market so good luck to them.

Thought I’d give a quick update in case anyone else is thinking of using WeBuyCycle to sell their bike.

I had a valuation for two eMTB’s a couple of weeks ago, not quite what I might have been able to get on eBay, PB etc., but enough to compensate for the lack of time consuming faff of selling online, packing bikes, couriers etc.

I took the bikes to their workshop this morning and one of the mechanics inspected the bikes in my presence. He found a tiny bit of play in the bottom bracket of one of the bikes, but said it wasn’t enough play to need any remedial work (it really was a teeny amount of play, and I’d never noticed it before).

Anyway, they didn’t go back on the valuations or try to haggle, it was just a case of giving them my bank account details and waiting about 1 to 2 minutes for the money to drop into my account. I was pleasantly surprised by how stress free it was.
