Took the cover off my Bosch equipped bike and there's a lot of connectors in there.
The cover has a big gap all the way around it.
Should I be whacking some sort of grease over the connectors to protect from splashes?
Take them apart and reassemble with heat shrink?
Under warranty? I'd leave it alone, until it's not, as you don't want to be accuse of tampering if it goes back for warranty work.
Bosch are well sealed. theres o rings inside all the connectors.
I've ridden my Bosch ebike through two Welsh winters and it's been fine - my problem is the charging port which Mondraker thought would be a good idea to put on the downtube next to the BB. When the weather gets really wet water gets inside and it suddenly thinks it's charging and turns itself off - nothing a bit of gaffa tape doesn't fix though!
Under warranty I’d leave well alone.
I’ve seen dielectric grease recommended on other places.
i **think** that if it’s a later generation Bosch motor you’d be advised to be careful in water as the circuit board is at the bottom of the motor ………. And in all motors water will get thru the bearings.
Just wrap loads of gaffer tape around it, seems to work for the delivery guys!!
