on my Croix De Fer 30. It's done around 400 miles since I got it in January and the cables have gone a bit 'hairy' where they have contacted things like the rubber bands on the downtube mudguard - looks as if they were predipped is some kind of slippery waxy stuff pre assembly ?

I am used to the Teflon coated shimano inners but not seen this before ?

Aahhh but, they're supposed to reduce friction by 20%. Apparently, Durex have licensed the idea for their new 'Long Stay' product range...

Lol 🙂

I can see me replacing them with some PTFE ones at some stage as I have a load of spares !
