Hi
I'm on the look out for my first waterproof trousers for commuting. I would like ones that aren't baggy and not have to keep adjusting the bottoms. I've just received some from wiggle altura ones but the Velcro straps don't go tight enough for my liking.
The Aldi ones are ok if there are any left. Not massively baggy and the velcro at the bottom goes pretty snug. Might be worth a look.
I got some from Aldi last week for a tenner, not used them yet but tried them on and they seem good. They are baggy at the bottom for putting on over shoes but they have velcro to adjust them.
3 secs to late, lol!
Mudguards work much better and keep both you and your bike cleaner.
i'll sell you a pair of aldi ones from last winter, used maybe 3 or 4 times, fits 32-34" waist for a fiver posted? They're a bit too long for my 29" inside leg and bunch up too much for my liking.
Which altura ones I hve a pair of night vision waterproofs that snug up lerfectly and I am pretty skinny!
I bought two sets from Aldi last winter for a couple of quid each after the special buy was over, one set eventually died (opened up at the crotch seam) after several weeks of grimey, wet, winter MTB rides... the other pair are still intact and have been used on and off since...
Handy for commutes in the wettest months when you can wrap the lower leg over and velcro it down over the top of an over shoe to prevent water from seeping in the top so easily, they're a bit "boil in the bag" but only if you wear too many layers underneath, normal Lycra bibs and maybe knee or leg warmers will be fine, they trap quite a bit of heat once you've been moving for ten minutes or more...
I'd say They're not quite worth that tenner IMO, simply because they're not all that tough/hard wearing but I'd pay a fiver for another pair or something similar, as they make cold, wet weather riding much more pleasant...
take a look and see what ebay has got knocking about for a fiver I reckon...
I've ordered a couple of pairs of endura ones from crc.
