I have a Montane Pertex top for road riding for the occasional summer shower but wanting something for road riding in prolonged rain and also to use in Autumn / Winter. Rides can be upto 6 hours so not really suitable for the pertex top. I am after something that will fit into my back pocket and is breathable as possible and I can take in case it looks like it will rain heavily and therefore a Castelli Gabba is probably not ideal. Any recommendations, so far the Gore Oxygen in Active Shell is looking the closest option. No budget as long as it works well and is as small as possible for the back pocket.

Just picked up a montane minimus. It's totally waterproof but a tad loose fitting.
May be worth a look.

I have a Montane Waterproof for the last 2 years and had been looking something to replace it but nothing was coming close. It scrunches up to the size of an apple - perfect for back pocket - but mine was fluro yellow and machine washes have turned it green. Still works well and keeps me dry but looks hideous.

In the last hour I've just had an Enduro Hummvee Convert land on my desk and it looks good - plus its RED yeeha!. Its not packable but the reviews looked good for the heavy rain.

Montane Velocity?
I have one and it is excellent, packs almost as small as the pertex tops

Also consider Altura Pocket rocket? I know someone who rates his

I'm also looking for something similar.
I've found the Mavic Hydro H20 only 70€ in Bike discount.

Mavic HC H2O here. Very happy with it and have used it all the way from light showers last Summer, through 6 hour rides peeing down with rain in the middle of Winter and back to light showers this year. Lots of nice small features too make it adaptable year round like the well placed vent and full front vent. Got mine on sale from CRC but have sadly lost it a week or two back!
