Rarely see these for under £100. Had 2 or 3 winters on mine and they're excellent. Not the warmest so probably best to go up half a size for thick socks.

As above, I’m a very happy wearer. Kept my feet dry on the beach and also in the peat bogs of Cumbria until knee deep swamp seeped down my socks. I wear them year round and they give some ankle protection too.

Don’t be tempted by the non goretex ones, they are utter shite.

Thanks looks like an easy choice but I didn't know that they did two types - gortex and non gortex

They are far from shite - they make a great summer shoe/boot

Those Moabs are solidly waterproof and nice to ride in but if you wear trousers it’s like they’re designed to trap the bottom of the trouser inside the top of the shoe and funnel all water hitting your legs straight to your feet. Obviously dependent on the trouser cut.

They do another pair which has a much more sensible ankle cuff but is definitely a shoe for cold weather. Last winter was mild and I felt like my feet were too hot a lot of the time!

I dont really like the five ten gtx, they're fairly clumpy and lacking in feel, and not warm enough for winter yet still a too toasty for a warm wet day. In the end I dont think it does anything well at all except for the waterproofing. I much prefer the old freerider element when its not cold- way less waterproof but a far better riding shoe. And in winter my colorado fairbanks are warmer, about as waterproof, and also a better riding shoe despite not being one (and an ironically crap walking shoe)

@spannermonkey - if the Burner flats are anything like the Burner SPDs then avoid.

I bought 2 pairs as they seem to fit me well and looked good value - they both fell aparts (sole detached from upper) within 6 months of Scottish summer use.
