My youngest managed to break off 3 of his lower front (adult) teeth this week. The dentist has made a good job of rebuilding them but he has to be really careful with them. We realised today when cycling that water bottles that need teeth to pull open probably aren't the best.

Are there any that don't need pulling up? I know Nike do some for football but they are the wrong shape for a bottle cage.

When out in the woods I try to remember to buy a good bottle of spring water with a cap before.

Last Monday I forgot and had to take a conventional bike water bottle, the appearance and smell of the top of the mud and horse/dog excrement splattered bottle was far from appealing,

I have an adjustable cage which helps.

these are a bit more expensive than the standard but have a twist open/lock kind of system which i like - doesn't actually need to be locked when on the bike and most importantly for me, haven't leaked so far.

I never close mine either, if he doesn't do it, knock his teeth out again, he'll learn 😉
