my race frame from last year was never right, straight out the box, with a standard dished wheel fitted the tyre rubbed on the frame, as it was team frame i didn't built it up, so the shop decided to redish my wheel to fit. After they sacked me from the team i need to get rid of it, but tricky to sell so i sent it away for warranty, this was 3 months ago, i'm yet to be given any indication on how much longer it'll take, i email weekly for updates, sometimes answered, but usually blameed on the manufacturer for delays.
What can i do? and what are my rights? i'm lucky i have other stuff to ride else i'd be even more ****ed off with them
I'm presuming it was free so I'm guessing you don't want to push too hard incase they offer a full refund?
it wasn't free, reduced, but a long long way from free
Surely if it was known that the wheel rubbed it should have been checked then? A team rider not using a team bike seems a bit odd. As to now? 3 months sounds a long time...have you emailed asking if you can get a new frame due to delay in resolving? And if so, when that will arrive.
Fair enough, my Fatty should be back from On-One today so I'll bite my tongue on how long an acceptable turnaround is untill I've got my paws on it!
Either their warrenty dept is really lazy (unlikely given the ire it generates on forums, someone in management would have had words if it were that simple). Or it's massively under resourced or badly managed. It's taken 4 weeks to:
1) Change a rear tyre (that was already off the bike having exploded.
2) Change a part of the BB.
3) Determine that the stem was at fault for the loosening headset.
Most of that seems to have been inbetween working through their to do list/e-mails each time. I could probably have fixed it myself in a couple of hours max, including a long enough test ride!
