On the bike tonight I realised the aluminium pedal insert is coming away from the carbon so my cranks are goosed.
They came on a second hand bike I bought so I don't have any paper work, what are my warranty chances and who do I contact?
Cranks are Truvativ Noir Carbon.
Is it Fisher Outdoor?
Cheers
None. You bought the bike second hand so you're not entitled to a warranty.
It'd a rather long shot
Warranty is only for original purchaser only and is generally reliant on you taking it back to the shop it was bought from along with your receipt.
If you have a local shop who'd be willing to deal with Fishers on your behalf despite you not buying the bike from them then you may have a chance but any assistance you receive is going to be a goodwill gesture. Because as the poster above said, you effectively have no warranty.
It will have to be done through a bike shop.If you get past that hurdle then chances will be slightly better than slim.
Very low at best unless you've got the original proof of purchase & don't mind a bit of fraud.
NONE.....
Go ask bike shop nicely.
They might glue it back in cheap if (When) fishers tell you to do one.
No harm in asking.
Thought as much, worth asking in case anybody had tried previously, I'm sure I'm not the first to ask.
Not sure how it would be fraud as I wouldn't deceive anyone, I would've advised Fisher that I don't have the receipt.
My friend had a reverb replaced under warranty that he bought from here, so I'm sure it's not unheard of to get items replaced under warranty if there is a genuine fault.
But on a separate matter, anyone selling any SLX cranks?! 😉
The better manufacturers out there warranty their products for a period of time regardless of whether you're the original purchaser or not. Turner for example. It shows faith in the quality of their products. I've no idea whether this applies to Truativ or not though I'm afraid. Check their website.
little chance on the warranty I'd suspect, from personal experience I'd be worried about getting the pedal out!
I had some RaceFace SixC cranks that did this and I couldn't get the pedal out, nor could my LBS. The crank got sent back to RaceFace (or Silverfish?) and they couldn't get it out either. They had to cut it out which damaged the pedal axle. Fortunately CRC who I bought the cranks from were nice enough to send me a new pedal axle after I asked for one. I now save lots of money and run Shimano cranks 🙂

I have a used set 170mm in garage.
email me if you want pics will be tomorrow
Bruneep,
My friend might've come to the rescue, but if he lets me down I'll message you, cheers!
I'm definitely going back to Shimano one way or another!!
Not too fussed about the pedals as they're old battered Saints, and they're only on my winter hack.
Your friend did well.
There again Fishers have probably given up arguing over Reverbs!

Turner warranty their frames for 2 years for the original owner only .
Madison warrantied my second hand Commencal frame a few years back. Really good service from them.

Warranty length will be a marketing led descision, not engineering.
