You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
i've been waiting 6 months for a replacement frame from a Distribution which rhymes with Pie, they sell motorbike branded bikes...They don't reply to my emails and each time I call they say they've been too busy and i'll get an answer in next few days, i've already had to buy a replacement frame, so i've no actual use for the replacement, but the money would be useful. What can i say to actually worry them?
did you buy it directly from the distributor or is there a retailer involved?
Credit Card, Trading standards, Big Vern, attack puppies...
Have they actually accepted that it is a warranty claim and are willing to supply a replacement?
If so 6 months is completely unacceptable.
I'd be interested to hear to full story.
Start by flushing a few kitten down the toilet. Send them a video of the deed so they know your serious and slightly unhinged. Then, send them a shopping list for a Sunday roast. Follow this with a photo of you in some roadie gear but wearing a cambleback! Ha, that will blow their minds.
Sit back and your frame will no doubt arrive the next day, probably.

I think 6 months is an unacceptable length of time to wait for an answer, even if the answer is 'no' they should be able to decide one way or the other in a matter of days/hours and then either replace quick sharp, or expalin why they can't an offer an alternative resolution.
But more details may help us understand the situation a bit better.
TBF the behaviour so far suggests they're immune to it- with some companies it's a delaying strategy knowing you might give up, but from your description it seems like they're just scumbags sadly. Small claims?
Big Vern, attack puppies...
I do not...oh sorry wrong vern
Small claims court?

Your email has been diverted to the Junk folder and it's easy to fob off soemone on the phone.
Turn up at their premises. Be firm but polite and insist on a resolution.
I'd have reached that stage a long time before 6 months, though.
Speak to Citizens Advice or trading standards then go diwn the small claims route.
its been accepted as a warranty replacement, via email, there words were "A credit would be applied to bob's account for the amount the frame costs. Its a fairly standard procedure for dealers when replacements aren't available within a satisfactory time frame" this was received on May 19th.
The frame was purchased as a member of their race team, through the team boss who acts as a dealer, which hasn't helped the matter, he's been helpful though and chased on my behalf.
Its difficult to know whether they're just fobbing me off as its difficult to work round how it was purchased
oh the joys of favours
so your team boss is basically waiting for the money?
If it's applied as a credit to his account then he'll never get the actual cash, just free stuff to the same value. So he'll have to give you the money out of his pocket anyway.
i'll just take a frame and sell it, i can't expect him to give me the money out his pocket, a dealer wouldn't and they don't sell anything else i'd want.
Kind of sounds like it was all resolved on the 19th May. Has the boss guy actually checked whether he got that credit? If so, get him to order up a frame for you and job done.
no he hasn't, they promised a resolution within a few days, he's also chased them but to no avail, i'll phone them at lunch, just wanted a bit of back up as its a crap situation
Turn up with a bastard on . I hate phone calls and have threatened to drive to premises in the past when I had a problem . Sometimes people need some intimidation .
They've agreed to credit team boss's account. This sounds like an accounts query not a warranty one. Get the team boss to chase accounts payable and confirm whether they intend to apply a credit to account or refund to his bank. Once you know that (I suspect it would be credit to his account), you can then reorder against that credit, but you are of course restricted to brands on that distributor's portfolio.
