My venerable Lake winter boots have a warm and waterproof upper, but those daft Yanks forgot to make the sole warm and cut a big old hole in the bottom to access the cleats. They are bigger than my normal shoes, lots of volume.
I've put in a double layer of tinfoil under insole, and that has improved things.
Insole is worn out, so please suggest a warmer insole - I'm tempted to just put a layer of karrimat in there.
What sir needs is a pair of lambswool insoles;

Had these in my cycling shoes when I used to commute through winter. Toasty warm .
Random thought.. Odour eaters insoles are rubber on the bottom with the top layer being a spongey material, might be worth a punt for a fiver?
I use alpaca ones mate. £9 a pair on line
warm as toast

Ton - How do there insoles perform once they get wet?
^ same here, I don't think wool will dry/survive long...
You are right, an odour eaters cheapy from suitable budget retailer would work.
warm wet wool insulates. ask sheep and other flurry things
