As the title says I'd like to give some enduro races a go next year and I'm looking at getting a new bike. I'm just looking at frame options but I just wondered if people had any good suggestions? Im going to build it with some new, some used and some existing parts. My last full sus was a blur ltc that I paid £2.6k for the frame for, those days are long gone so frame budget is about £1200 max. Any ideas?

Specialized Enduro. You'd be looking second hand at that budget.

Based on how quick my mate is on his, you don't need longer travel.

I think I'll have to have a trip to the on one shop, but those transitions look stunning

The new meta v4's look pretty tidy and good prices too.

Plenty of travel on the Codeine for an enduro 29er. You can be assured with this bike, that it wouldn't be the bike holding you back.

Isn't there also a 650b version of the Codeine on the way as well?

Shop around (won't have try too hard) and £1200 will get you an Alpine 160 26 frame.

I'm riding a 130mm 29er with 150mm pike and I reckon it'd be good for most of the enduro courses I've raced before.

Only really gets overfaced in big rock gardens - and you don't get many of them in UK enduro races.

Brilliant for my normal riding too.

Yeah but send me an email, I don't like putting my bike pics online.

How about the Bird Bikes Aeris?

I think Dirt had an article on it not to long back.

Ridden both I wouldn't bother going from the Blur to the Alpine.
Not to ignite the debate but I wouldn't be looking at 26" for a new frame really.

A used santa cruz nomad, giant reign/trance, specialized enduro, lapierre spicy, transition sb66, bandit etc, alpine, banshee rune, basically any modern 140-160 frame. The race times come with training and race sharpness, not the marketing bs that surrounds your bike.

If you're leaning toward 650b, the Bird FSer does look hard to beat and quite thoughtfully specced.

I don't normally buy full MTBs, but they're quite close to how a lot of people will want to ride them.
