Hi, I've been looking at routes going over Walna and they all seem to go up from the Seathwaite rather than Coniston. Has anyone ridden up from the Coniston side? Thoughts?
Cheers, Alesupper
Rode up from Torvor on Sunday and over the back of the mine from Stephenson ground , took around an hour and a climb a little, but well worth it, I can send the GPX
Yes please, that would great!
ridden up from Coniston a few times. the road up past the sun inn is the worst part of the whole climb. once the road ends it becomes more enjoyable.
You could go straight up the front from Coniston yes and then just turn around at the top have some lunch? and then head back down. It would be a darn sight quicker than going up the usual route through Torver and the woods and/or stephenson ground.
That's good to hear. I've only done Walna once and that was from the Seathwaite side so I fancy trying it from Coniston. Cheers.
