How long should the battery last? I’m using decent quality button cells but I only seem to get 10-12 hours from it. The Wahoo website suggests the battery should last up to 12 months!

It’s always been like this so I stopped using it for a while. Dusted it off now I’ve bought a smart turbo but don’t want to feed it a new battery every week or so.

Yeah that's not right. I bought my Wahoo Tickr in May 2019, haven't swapped the battery yet.

In that time I've done roughly about 80-90 hours of activities wearing it.

Do I have to switch it off somehow in between uses? I tend to just unclip one side of the strap...

Exactly what I do, leave one side clipped on, the other unclipped and in a drawer.

It's not connected to a device constantly, is it?

Can’t think how- I leave it in the shed and there’s no other Bluetooth device within 10m

Can’t recall ever changing my battery. The cadence sensor lasted about a year and I changed the speed sensor just after. HR is still going months after.

I unclip HRM from strap completely when not in use, because of battery drain, on a Polar and Coospo.

CR2032 typically lasts 6-9 months, depending on how much exercise I'm doing and wearing it for.

Got mine in December and using it 4-5 hours a week, still on the original battery.

Just a thought, if your shed gets cold (like night-time outside cold), that may affect the battery condition and longevity. Bring it indoors, and see if things improve.

That said, we're hopefully seeing warmer weather now though 😉

If it’s not flashing it shouldn’t be using any battery clipped or not. I think maybe the temperature might be part of the issue.

I’ve only had mine a couple of weeks but I’ve easily done more than 12 hours in that time and it’s been fine.

Try un-clipping both sides of the strap and also check whether the lights flash continually.

Thanks- lights definitely don’t flash continuously, so it seems to be going into standby. It connects to my Wahoo Element on the bars, so I can’t believe range is an issue (ie draining more battery).

I’m concluding it’s b*ggered, which is annoying as it’s now out of warranty and has been like this from the beginning.

I’ll see what Wahoo come back with

My first few times with Wahoo Tickr made me think the battery was getting drained. I changed the battery, turned my phone off and on again, re-named it, deleted it from my Wahoo android app and then added it again.
Now it works fine. I don't know which it was that made it change (yes, I'm the sort of person who refuses to just change one thing at a time so I never know which one helped) but I'm fine with it now.
I think the flashing only comes on for a few seconds while it's switched on and is searching for connection.

For me it flashes when turning it on, for a few seconds, then when connected via ant+ there's no flashes at all. When connected via bluetooth it flashes once red for every heartbeat and blue flashes 1-2 times a second.
