[Closed] Wahoo stopping live track mid ride

I've been using a Wahoo Bolt for a long time now, everything just normally works. Recently I've noticed that when I use my phone while I am using live track, it stops the tracking. My wife when she checks will see my last position when I stopped and it won't upload anymore.

When I unlock the phone, the wahoo app goes to the normal pre-ride page, and it shows a completed ride with the details up to the point I stopped. It doesn't actually complete the ride and sync with strava, just no more live track.
I have reinstalled the app, and done a device reset and reinstalled at the same time with the same issue.
Anyone having this issue too and manged to resolve it?

Live tracking might have an issue. My better half rang me mid-ride the other weekend as I apparently hadn't moved for about an hour.

No issues with recording the full ride or syncing with Strava.

I hadn't given it much though since so I've not raised it with Wahoo.

That said, I've noticed that before every ride now the app asks for permission to access my location. I always grant the whilst in use permission so I don't see how it should cause a problem.

I think they're having lots of problems with their firmware and bluetooth at the moment - mine's been a PITA with uploads for the last couple of months.

I've just 'forgotten' the device in the app and in iphone settings and re-set up the bluetooth from scratch - this seems to have helped.

If that doesn't work its worth opening up a support ticket, but I suspect you're not the only one!

I had an issue recently where it would not update the device software. I tried all the usual tricks, it was only a full forget, uninstall app, and factory reset and reconfigure that got the updates working again.

I'll just open a support ticket anyway.

There is an issue with live track, I’ve got a ticket in with their Customer Services.

Seems to keep stopping in terms of notifications for calls and texts too (which is less of an issue as I ride to get away from the phone)

Make sure the wahoo app is allowed to run in the background, some phones will kill the app after a while to save battery.

I will say I've just had to factory reset mine as it was no longer auto uploading to strava when connected to WiFi.

Really, really tempted by a garmin edge 1030 plus right now. .. 🤔😁

I've checked the battery settings, those are all turned off. It works fine for 4+ hour rides, as long as I do not unlock or use the camera on the phone.

IT was a known issue but in my experience has now been fixed - see thread below from Wahoo customer services. I unpaired, repaired and updated the firmware and it all works fine now.

I did have the live track issue, but as above seems to be fixed by the update.

The problem I do have now is my tickr constantly dropping connection with the bolt, it’s been a nightmare! Anyone had this issue?

I logged a ticket last night, got a reply saying they are aware of the issue, and there is an open developer ticket to resolve, so it is not updated as above.

My app is 1.33.3.4, so newer than the supposed fix.
