As much as I like my Wahoo Elemnt bike computer there heart rate monitors are rubbish. Original one was replaced under warranty, and now the replacement one has packed in after just 3 months.
Anyone else experiencing the same?
Is it possible to use another type of heart rate monitor strap that's more reliable?

Yup I went through about 6 before I gave up on them.

I now have one from Decathlon that's worked flawlessly and has a much simpler hook and strap setup.

My TICKR has been faultless and still on original battery since july 19. I wear it on average 4 times a week.

My ticker fit died after about 8 months of fairly light use. It was replaced under warranty, by wahoo, with minimal fuss and now i get to see how long the replacement lasts.

I've never had an issue with mine, apart from the strap going.

The actual unit is fine, never had any issues. And that's after 5 odd years, using 2-3 times a week at least

Went through two and gave up.
Battery replacing almost weekly, now it works for 10 minutes then just reports a fixed number.
I think the issue is with the battery section. Battery just doesn’t feel secure.

Fingers crossed, mine remains flawless. Had it about a year and used 3-4 times a week. Still on original battery. Syncs easily to phone, Pad and Garmin with nay bother.

Typical after boasting on here about faultless performance mine has just bitten the dust.

Any advance on Decathalon or Cateye?

thanks

In the interests of fairness I should probably say that I found out, after getting the warranty replacement for my ticker fit, that it was only my charging cable that had died with mine. So wahoo haven’t done quite as badly as I initially thought.

I've had a Wahoo HRM for a couple of years and can report 'no faults' so far!

Halfords own brand HRM has been reliable, for me.

I've had 3 or 4 over the years. The straps have all failed and the most recent one seems to be transmitting HR values 24/7 despite me not even wearing it! This obviously means the battery isn't lasting long and for some reason it reports static figures for 5-10 mins at a time during a workout.

I won't be buying another!

I’ve had two, both died very quickly. Both were battery issues.
Also need a replacement but it won’t be a wahoo.

Coospo H6 (or whatever model it is now), ANT+ and Bluetooth, half price of Wahoo.

Being a cheapskate I went with the Coospo but couldn't get it to work so returned. In the meantime Amazon refunded my Wahoo and I bought a Polar H9 because I learnt data from Polar is accepted by Vitality (unlike Zwift through Garmin). I am now able to record data to both Garmin and Vitality at the same time. I liked the format of Polar Beat, the app and the training diary, so thought I would use this as well as Garmin but didn't like carrying my phone whilst running. So have now bought a Polar H10 which has a memory and can store a single activity till you get back an download to your phone.

In summary I have now have spent twice as much as I needed to and have a surplus Polar H9 and duplicate data!

My Wahoo Tickr has been going strong for over 4 years now. Used indoor and outdoors. Mountain bike, road bike and running 4-5 times per week.

Nae issues. Battery seems to last for ever.

I have one but realised the Garmin ones much more reliable and longer lasting

I've had no reliability issues with mine after 2 years however it does seem to loosen and slip down loads more than my old garmin one used to, particularly when running. Still, I suppose it gives my neighbours a laugh watching me legging along the road whilst hoiking up my bra
