Normally as good as gold, I walk in the door and before the kettle has boiled it has recognised the wifi and synced up to Strava.
Occasionally I have to manually sync, eg: if I've driven somewhere and ended the ride away from the house.
Today it won't sync up. I've restarted, resynced, it says it's syncing, but nothing appears
Is there an issue, any ways to make it happen, or is it a Strava issue? Ideas?
Which stage isn’t working? Syncing to the app from the Bolt, or uploading to Strava from the app?
I found there was a period where I had to turn the bluetooth off and on again on my phone to get it to spring to life and sync between Bolt and app, but a recent software update seems to have solved it.
Not sure exactly how it does it. The head unit attaches to wireless, I get the bars in the top of the screen and if I scroll through to routes and then press sync it says syncing ..... Strava..... Ride with GPS; and then the head unit says synced however minutes ago.
The app on the phone has the workout on it.
But it's not appearing on my Strava feed
I don't think the phone connection matters, I thought because the unit is connected to wifi (on my home network) the data goes direct to / from the head unit to the internet, as soon as it recognises it's on the wireless network. Most of the time I don't have the phone app running, only to amend screens, etc.
Which incidentally I did prior to this ride which now makes me wonder if I 'changed' something else then?
Mine hasn't auto-uploaded for about a year now. I had a play around with various options when it started - removing phone and wifi from the device, updating etc - before giving up and just learning to live with it. Now I arrive home, go to routes and hit sync so still pretty straightforward.
been doing that and still no joy. Have now turned off the wifi in settings (on the phone app) and then on again and it's reconnected to the wifi, I'll try again.
This happened a few times over the years for me when an update confuddled it. Various suggestions on their help pages and probably on here if you search, but it was subsequent updates that fixed it properly.
If the ride is showing in the phone app you can tap through and ask it to try re-uploading to Strava and wherever else you get it to sync to.
that's done it soundninja! Thanks.
I also tried Wahoo help, suggested I try another workout and see whether that pushes it through. So walked to the end of the road, back again, end workout..... and that appeared immediately as normal, still this morning's no sign.
Until SNUK fixed it
It generally fails to upload when there has been a software update and you need to re-pair it with your phone, at least that is what we find with ours.
You’re very welcome. As it happens mine did exactly the same thing this morning…
Bolts only connect to certain WiFi channels too. I found that my WiFi had switched to a channel above the bolt range which stopped auto syncing via WiFi for me
