It's the Weekend Ride Picture Thread again.
You know what to do.
Ride your bike.
Take a couple of pictures.
Post them up here with a few words about the ride.
Finally seem to be coming out of the other side of a really annoying chest bug that's been doing the rounds.
Nice spin round in a winter wonderland today.
One of those rare snow rides that was fun instead of a slog through slush or death ice.

Nice! Where is that? (these threads need locations I reckon!)
Am considering a low down sloppy singletrack fest around Doune and Dunblane (unless it's all frozen) or sticking ice tyres on and going high over Glen Artney and into Findhu Glen tomorrow. The attraction being that the sloppy bit coming out of Findhu Glen and across Comrie Moor might be frozen. Pictures tomorrow either way...

You're dead right.
It's GT for anyone that doesn't recognise it.
I've been feeding this Robin some bird seed over the last couple of months and he now turns up and tries to get in the car as soon as we pull up and open the doors.
He attacked Mrsstu today too. 😉

Ah, fair enough, you might have assumed everyone would recognise it, has been about 15 years since I visited last 😆
Just a short local ride (Leeds) on the SS this morning. I was out just about early enough for the trails to be mostly frozen, a few muddy bits, but mostly OK.
Quick lap with Reeksy1

No snow this morning, just bitterly cold!

Beautiful frost though. I'll look back on it more fondly, once I can feel my toes again!
Just a local bimble for my first ride of the year.

Another snowy day at Glentress, the branches were even lower but starting to thaw a bit so trails were clarty again.
Beautiful, still, frosty, grippy morning here in Northern Ireland. The perfect day for a ride at Tollymore with friends.

Little potter around Harkerside and whipperdale yesterday. Followed by a fry up at the DBC. Special thanks to Bren and Ian for reheating my lunch (when the cafe was heaving) when I underestimated my ETA.
Sketchy AF up on't local moor this morning. Frozen and a light dusting of snow up top, slippy slidy thawing slush and ice over still-rock-hard ground down below. For this reason we stayed mainly on the trails on top and had a great first ride of 2025 <thumbs up emoji>

Oof, 115km of supposedly flat and easy old railway lines became a bit more of a mission than it should have been. Mostly down to tyre choice, I inherited some 35mm Schwalbe Winter Marathons with the full complement of spikes, genuinely not sure how much an extra 1kg of rotating mass makes! Also punctured twice and had a tyre try to sneak up over the rim, noticed before a blow out thankfully, no doubt due to a hasty, frozen fingered repair.
All good other than that though 😆

Last ride before work starts again 🙁
Snuck in a bit of outdoor static bike work halfway around my loop.

More seriously, having fitted the Ice Spikers yesterday I was determined to use them despite the snowmaggedon being a little disappointment. Mixture of an inch of snow, an inch of slush, patches of ice and several inches of melt water.

Managed about a mile this morning before sacking it off and going for a walk instead, zero grip! Slightest input on the bars resulted in all kinds of sketchyness.
Quick one up the hill this morning for first ride of the year. Lots of people out enjoying the snow, lovely day. Got snow/water down the inside of my shoes though and my feet were ****ing freezing.
