It's The Weekend Ride Picture Thread again.
You lot know what to do.
Ride yer bike.
Take a few pics.
Post them up with a few words.
Sun's out here in the valley so what was planned to be me sorting a small issue on a trail turned into a 35km/1000 Meter ride with some trail maintenance in the middle.
I read the downtube sticker as Haribo for a second. Must be time for some fangtastics!
Short ride tonight. Spent almost as long watching this.
29er or mullet? Hard to tell from that angle 😂
1st Exmoor ride this year, pics not in right order 🙄
Mrsstu is still feeling a bit battered from an off on Wednesdays ride so it was an easy XC spin round this morning with a stop to see the donkeys.
30km/650meters.
Had originally intended to head out to one of 2 local steep/enduro-y spots, but felt a bit mentally and physically tired this morning, so just did a mellow 45km XC loop on the HT. Colours are stunning, and the Bluebells are just starting to come out; give it a week or two and parts of this ride will be covered in Bluebells and then Wild Garlic. I love Spring.
Second time at Tollymore this week. I’m exhausted, but I just can’t stop riding - the trails are sooooo good.
My Bro lent me his lovely Mason Bokeh. Fab on and (easy) off road. Smooth, comfortable and great fun on swoopy trails/roads. He generously offered to lend it to me for the Marches and Castles tour I'm doing end April. But it's a bit small and while it has twice as many gears as my digger, the are all on the wrong end of the cassette 🙂
What a thing tho. Not sure I'm giving it him back!
Exploring some more local bridleways. Found some nice singletrack bits and a Tesco trolley in the middle of a field. Think I'll try it the other way next time though as I was going up more than down!
Quick local shakedown ride following some chain skipping issues before the little local enduro tomorrow. Looks like the hand will be OK for any jumps and rough stuff too (not that I'm expecting to trouble the top end of the results!).
Also trying out another lo-fi lens - re/upcycled from a disposable camera. Think it will be OK for retro-looking video but not convinced by the stills...
Cloaks and cutlery on Friday, then a rare outing with another of this parish today, with obligatory tea and cake stop. (Cake didn't last long enough for a photo.)
After a day of relative wrangling (mainly pushing my niece and nephew around Gran's garden in a wheelbarrow)...
...Chilled perfect local XC...looks like I was following in @hardtailonly s tyre tracks though I didn't realise it at the time!
I am loving the Pace RC529. It's still set up singlespeed for riding through slop over the winter...but the winter wasn't that bad! It's going to get turned into geared rigid adventure mode soon for bivvy trips or longer touring stuff
But set up as an Xc SS hardtail it's perfect for this route. Plenty of moderate technical bits and flowy singletrack - it'd be a bit of a ball ache on a gravel bike. Some nice punchy climbs that are a challenge to clean with one gear.
Loving the sunshine this weekend, just my local hill today so not far but a few trails top to bottom.
Aboyne for me today. Glorious weather dry trails and managed to ride, just about, a properly sketchy trail
Another glorious day in the FoD. This was taken just before we hit Skin Chimney, although that's actually the start of Bunker;
Unusually managed a ride and pictures.
As a bowl of petunias once said oh no not again...
Captain Snakebite in action again although at least this week he'd brought a spare tube.
Just time for a quick, short ride today, doubling as a dog walk
Lovely gravel ride today. Dry trails start apart from 2 persistent wet spots. I was having far too much to record the views and trails lined with Blosom. I think i did 38 miles with a few punchy climbs. Lunch in Hitchin where everything comes with Avacado. One photo only
Some woods in North Yorkshire this afternoon...
Dusty and fast. Had a few goes getting comfortable on a step down/hip jump that's had me riding around it previously.
A fun day out at Rogate, I'd not been in nearly 5yrs. Finally got to do the DMR on/off although my back isn't thanking me this morning!

Really good to see all abilities and ages having a good day. I (52) was asking young'uns for advice, and I had tweenagers asking me how to do the whale tail at the bottom of the hill.
Bikes are just the best!
Not sure why it's double posting??

Maximising / kicking the arse out of the great weather and trail conditions with two great, but very different, rides over the weekend.
Saturday: 30km/800m family ride on the e-bike at GT. Worth every penny to scoot up the climbs towing a mini-a11y and blast past others - sorry! Will use more assistance next time as I ended with nearly 60% battery remaining (430wh Fazua Ride60, Heckler SL). Realise it's a luxury for the kids but meant they rode for longer/further and got more of the fun stuff done. Also some rare photos of me actually on the bike rather than being the one taking the photos.
Looking at the devestation on Deliverance, from the fireroad traverse while seeking some Mild Peril:
Mini-a11y#2 gaining more confidence with a tiny bit of air:
Sunday: 33km/1,000m again on the e-bike. Colsnaur in the Ochils finishing with a bit of Uni and Mine Woods. Made more use of higher modes but still ended with nearly 30% battery left. Pure tranquility being the only person in sight on the hills.
Monday morning (still the weekend in my eyes cos it was before work): 20km/200m on the gravel bike. Frost again but what a morning!
Yesterday was a GT off piste mixup with Mrsstu but I forgot to take any pictures.
We did however bump into @Burchy1 which was nice.
Should really have had a day off from riding today but it's such a nice day I couldn't resist.
So a local spin round on the eeber for 30km/1100 meters.
@ready I agree it's absolutely brilliant at spots like you mentioned - rogate in your case - where all ages and abilities are there for the same thing. I.e. to learn, progress, and scare the shit out of ourselves!
It's *such* a good leveller and the vibe is ace.
We've a few spots locally that are much the same in terms of vibe
Saturday had a "can I still ride a bike" spin at Glentress, and it turned out I could so went out on the gravel bikes up Glen Tilt yesterday.
Two rides in one weekend!
Sunday was the inaugural Poacher Enduro at Belvoir Castle. Short stages and a mash up format. Good fun. Lack of recent riding told though, and I was cooked well before the cut-off time. Due to still not having full confidence in my grip strength I was B Line king! Even to the point of cutting my own C and D lines at times...
First week of retirement for us. Loads of gym classes, walks, runs and even a Northern Soul All dayer. However the Peak was calling and with the sun out and clear sky's it was on with the shorts and short sleve top for the first time this year to hit some of our favourite trails. Dry, fast and so much fun
