I've got a rockShox Pike Ultimate RCT3 150mm 2021. Looking at possible upgrades. I've heard vorsprung luftkappe is good but not sure if it's worth it on the new forks?
You'd need to fit an air shaft from a previous generation fork to be able to do that. If I remember correctly, the B1 airshaft pretty much did what the luftkappe did. Funnily enough, this 2as the airspring version that sagged under its own wait and caused lots of questions from the uninitiated which led to the C1 spring.
What's the fork not doing that you want it to do, or doing that you don't want it to do?
Thanks for your input much appreciated, thought that might be the case.
It's pretty good but I wish I went with lyrik rather than pike. I know that it wound not give me any more stiffness but. I thought it might help with chatter.
But I was just wondering and messing around and thinking about any changes just for fun.
The current air spring isn't as good as the earlier B1 as it is a smaller negative air spring. Luftkappe is a vast improvement over the first iteration air spring. Masses of info on the damper and air spring on MTBR suspension forum. Lyrik is stiffer than the pike but both suffer from the same damper issues.
