Anyone got one?

Looks a decent buy for 400 quid, and I'll get £32 off it with with work points as well. Planning on selling my current CX bike, as I'm only really using it to do 10-20 miles with the family, I reckon a hybrid would suit me better, be comfier too.

Anyone seen anything else I should look at?

Ta!

It has been as low as £320 in recent months, £400 is the highest it's been IIRC.

https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hyb-8-6-hybrid-bike-grey is ~2Kg lighter in default spec and the frame welds on those Boardmans are far nicer.

https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15905565/calibre-stitch-urban-bike-15905565 looks interesting for a road based hybrid, with bigger gearing and quite light.

But the Marasa has been the best bang for the buck hybrid for years, very versatile, wide gear range through the triple chainset and capable of ~28mm road tyres through to ~50mm knobblies.

And a perfectly timed PSA seals the deal, stitch ordered. 😊

Would be interested to hear about the tyre clearance and if the quoted default spec weight is just over 11Kg.

I'll let you know on both mate, hoping my 38c vittoria hyper tyres fit.

Mines an XL, I'm betting it's nearer 13kg. Not really too hung up on weight tbh.

I got a Marasa last year it was 330 minus 10% online discount and I did cycle2work so it was less 20 quid a month. I spend more than that on crisps.

Really pleased with it, only criticism I needed full length mudguards and there is zero clearance between back wheel and front mech so I binned the mech and swapped the chainset for a single 44T, making it 1x9.

Goaty, XL is 12.12Kg, with cheap stock pedals fitted and has loads of tyre clearance, a 40c will go in there no worries.

Cheers for that info, definitely one for the commute shortlist, especially at that promo price.
