Hi,

I've an old 2013 Voodoo Bizango which is getting to an age that things are going - so I recently replaced the bottom bracket for example.

Now it looks like my freehub has gone. My options seem to be:

1. Get a replacement freehub
2. Use the opportunity to get a new rear wheel

I stumbled across this which says I need an "SRAM Freehub Body for X9 Hub V2". I had a quick Google and found this which looks like it might be the right one but can anyone confirm?

So the other option is to replace the rear wheel but I don't have a lot of cash so are there any recommended budget options?

Assuming I have the right part linked, I suspect option one is my best bet but thought I'd ask.

Thanks

It looks like it is the right one, and I would make the purchase based on that information. Can you remove the old one first? You can always return it if it is the wrong one and is unused.

Remove the old one first and compare. If it won't come out, or extra tools are needed, that may change the answer.

Thanks for the replies.

I stumbled across this and am wondering if it could be a replacement?

I think you need a 10mm hex key to remove the freehub. It will be tight. Ideally a bench vice will help. Keep the tyre on as it will help with turning the wheel. Make you turn the right way. Pedalling an pulling on the chain will tighten the freehub, so you need to turn the freehub anticlockwise relative to the wheel.

You will need to remove the axle to do this. If the bearings are in good shape, and the rest of the hub/rim/spokes are OK, then there is no need to replace the wheel, unless you want to, but !Mis-matched hubs!
