I bought a bike with rockshox recon rl that somehow have 150mm travel link:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitus-bikes-escarpe-suspension-bike-deore-1x10-2018/rp-prod159741

and I want to add volume spacers to increase the progressiveness of them but I don't know if it will fit this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/RockShox-Bottomless-Kit-Revelation-SoloAir/dp/B00LW8EH8K/ref=cts_sp_2_vtp

can anyone help me please?

Thanks in advance

According to the rockshox manual, the volume spacers won't be compatible with recon ( https://www.sram.com/rockshox/technologies/bottomless-tokens#sm.000102po9m12f8dimu2da96gyiqmb), that said I'm no expert and perhaps others have managed.

However you might find that if you just pop a bit more oil in the air spring side that this increases progression.

Yes, it will, I had a recon gold that was a bit of a pogo stick. You can't fit bottom less tokens directly to a recon as the air valve isn't threaded internally to take them. But the kit you link to has the air valve too, so you simply replace the air valve and use as many tokens as suit you. Worked a treat for me. Air valve just screws out with the right size sprocket or adjustable spanner in my case. Two minute job, just make sure you let the air out first 😉

I fitted the same kit you linked to my recon gold as above, and it made a real difference to the fork. Sensible upgrade for the money.

Check out the video on the GMBN tech channel. The one about bottom bracket minefield (or something like that). Fast forward to 5:24 and Doddy talks about adding volume spacers to a Recon. Needed to make something that attaches to the underside of the air cap because it’s not threaded for spacers and the other air cap won’t fit.

Oh, and they say not to add fluid instead. It won’t work for a recon.

I’m pretty sure that The air cap/volume spacers in the link provided above is only for forks with aluminium uppers.

From what I can tell, the recon gold used to have ali upper tubes. The recon RL has steel upper tubes.
