Just been eyeing up the Vitus Sommet frames currently on sale at CRC/Wiggle, the price seems too good to miss! Thinking if I went for the 275 version I could move all my 26" parts over (with some end caps and boost spacers for the rear hub), maybe an angleset to slacken it a bit more - how would it ride like this though, bb too low? It'd be a 170mm Lyrik up front and I have Hans Dampf/Magic Mary tyres which look fairly high volume. The plan would be to eventually get some 275 wheels and fork when budget allows/something good comes up on sale.

It is the 2020 model which I gather had issues with people using longer droppers, but I'm pretty short of leg so don't need a huge 200mm drop. I'm using a Command Post IR 150mm I think.

Can't find many reviews of the 2020 model so anything to be aware of with these? Just looking for a good all rounder FS frame with a slight "gravity" bias.

Will it actually take a slackset? Or is it drop in bearings into a machined headtube?

Yes it will as there's cups In the frame ,there zero stack so you'll need to account for that ie fork steerer length and height

Great frame for that price Inc shock

Edit - just saw the last post! Angleset isn't a deal breaker either way, 65 should be fine. My steerer has plenty of length left on it anyway, been meaning to cut it down a bit for years but never got round to it so it's been too long with ugly spacers on top for ages haha

So long as the bb wouldn't be too low on 26 I think I'm going to go for it!
