I'm very close to clicking buy on a Vitus Sentier 29 VR.
I want it for general XC and maybe some Bikepacking.
Does anyone here have one and would they recommend?
Thanks in advance.
Vitus are good value and well put together hardtails- should do the job for you. I'm in the process of stripping one down and selling the frame as I don't ride mine enough.
I’ve got the 27.5 vrx+ although running it with 2.5/2.3 tyres as I built it from a frame with non plus wheels.
It’s great fun and really playful and I’ve done a few 35k ish rides on it as a mixture of road and bridleway recently.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most comfortable thing in the world as it’s an aluminium hardtail, but in a 29er with plus ish tyres I imagine it would be more forgiving.
I use mine for stuff where it’s not trail centres with fast stuff - playing on pump tracks / smooth and flowy trails / rides with a bit of road in it. For everything else I use my fs trail bike.
Generally I tend to recommend it to anyone (and the couple of other people that have ridden it thought it was hilarious) but it prob wouldn’t be top of my list for bike packing.
