Looking for some new tyres for my hybrid, I came across these for £15.95 a pair!!
Are they any good?
700x28c I'm thinking of
I'll be doing 100+ miles a week?

Any other tyres you'd recommend that don't cost the earth!

I had some on the road bike I just sold. They were fine, not as comfy riding or as grippy feeling as the GP4000s they replaced, but they were less than a third of the price.

No flats in a few hundred mile either.

I use them because they are cheap. But TBH I would not recommend them to anyone else.

Alright puncture performance, quite plastic not ultra grippy, 100 miles a week? You will be changing the rear after about two months front after three perhaps.

I love Vittoria tyres but I prefer the Rubino model, they seem to have been around a long time and are very popular. Mine have never punctured despite lots of cuts on them and wear well and grippy too.

Got to be worth a try at £16, people will always say more expensive tyres are better but as long as they are of decent construction they'll be fine!

I've got a pair of Zaffiro's on a Dawes Clubman than gets used daily for going to and from work and also road rides on days off.

I reckon they must have done nearly 5000 miles in all weathers with no punctures or issues.

I haven't got a broad experience of road tyres though, so couldn't say how they compare to other brands and models.

I just keep them at 100psi and off I go 🙂
