Looking a 6 day trip to Zermatt in September few days before and a few days after the event.
Just wondering if anyone has been to an ews race before and then ridden the trails after the event. Do they shut them down?
The days before can be filled skiing on the glacier, few days walking and watching some bike racing followed by a few days on the bike was the rough idea I had.
No idea, but Zermatt is ace 🙂

Yes, i've done a few of them now & assuming there isn't any access issues with land ownership, you can ride them after. I've done it with my other half, who's not up for racing one, but she did want to try some stages to see how tough they actually are.
After the event, bear in mind they are usually battered though 🙂
I rode La Thuile a few days (3) after the EWS last year and everything was open. I would say that just before the event they would more likely be shut.
We were at la thuile last year for the ews. Whilst technically all the trails not being raced were open, access to the lifts with a bike was banned for non competitors for practice and both race days. I don't know when normal service resumed as we moved on so we could ride
