Just saw these - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/nukeproof-generator-front-mtb-hub-15mm-qr-2014/rp-prod85821
a bit cheaper than the Hope I was going to get for my Rooster build - anyone have any views on them
They're not as good as Hopes, they're probably OK for most people. I had one and the freehub died within a few months. They refused to warranty it and wanted £37 for a 'crash replacement' at which point I decided to cut my losses and buy, yes, a Pro II.
FWIW I'm sure I'm a bit hard on freehubs.
It's a front I' m after
Fronts are fine. The only problem I had with my set is that the rear hub uses an odd bearing size, but as you're after front only that doesn't matter.
Fronts probably OK, Rims seem decent (still Sun Ringle?), my rear freehub also packed up after a couple of months of normal trail use.
Like most Nukeproof products, the bearings come dry and need grease packed into them before use. If you don't then it shortens their life span dramatically.
They used to be the same hubs internally as Halo sell, not sure if that's the case but I really don't think they are worth buying especially when you consider how close in price they are to Hope, which are infinitely higher quality. At least with Hope you are supporting your local economy and keeping engineering jobs in the UK. Get hope.
10% off Hope at CRC with "HOPE" code.
It combines with the "AUTUMN" code too - might get you closer to the Nukeproof.
I have one built up for sale if you are interested? Let me know if you are interested and I will send you a mail with more details and pics.
