Curently running a Devinci Dixon with some Fox 32's (150mm) and RP23 BV and thinking of putting some 36's or Lyrics up front.
I fancing trying out the Lyrics but is it sensible to stick with the same brand dampers front and rear? Is one fundamentally better suited?
Any Dixon owners out there who are running either with strong views.
Cheers
Doesn't matter
As Atlaz suggests, shouldn't matter if both are setup correctly so the front and rear are balanced.
Manufacturers suggest matching shocks to sell more units.
Saying that running a set of 40's on an something like a Spesh Epic may not feel great 😉
RP23 and 120mm SIDs here. I can't see it makes any difference. It's important to get everything setup properly otherwise the suspension isn't doing its job, but the sticker on the outside really doesn't make a jot of difference.
Is that Paul from Trailladdiction Les Arcs in June?
If so, were you not considering Marzocchi 55 RC3 Ti's?
Can't comment on a Dixon, but I've never had any problems running different brand forks with Fox rear shocks (air or coil).
Andy (Orange Alpine)
Hi Andy, good guess, tis I.
Didn't really want to go coil up front as the rear is air and due to the weight. Not heard much about the air versions of the 55 either so wasn't really considering them.
I'll get your e-mail from Andy (Prophet) be good to stay in touch.
It's funny as my first ride back after France I was completely underwhelmed by my 32mm Revelations on my Five. The 36 Vans will be going on after i've serviced them.
Andy should have my email address and would be good to keep in touch.
The 55 RC3ti matches really well with a Fox RP air shock (I've had one on single pivot and dual link bikes) - and it's totally worth the small weight penalty IMO.
Just saying like.
I had Lyriks on my Dixon with the RP23 shock. Great forks.
