I good few years backs, I'm not sure if is was here, a video was put up showing a MTB'er E version of himself trying to compete with himself down a trail. I have tried to located it but not had any success. It was well made, good riding too. From a technical film point of view it was difficult to make, very very time consuming, and hats off to who ever made it, extreme patience was needed. I can only image given the computers and video software available, it was hand masked for each and every frame.
This is a remake of that film idea. It still took me a few weeks to make and so it must have taken even longer back then. I almost did not do it even back in April because it was so tedious to mask out ePaul from his videos clips and place back over the top of the real Paul or behind him. Then Apple release a new FCPX plugin which cut the masking down process down vast amount while allow you to see through the e-bike. Still not perfect, but still it works ok.
Like to says thanks to the people who helped out that weekend and their patience (how may times can you ride the same bit of trail?).
If any of you know of the original video or the people who made it I would like to see it again.
