I'm sure I'm Way out of step with those in the know, but I just had a look at this: Exotic carbon frame

and I have to say I think it looks a fair bit sexier than certain other popular cheap Carbon MTB frame... or am I just a Wrongle?

Discuss...

I'd be getting one of these if you were looking frame only, IMO the value of the Whippet is in the full build.

S'allright... I don't really like the downtube though. And it's got fugly v'brake bosses! And it's more expensive than a Whippet!

There is a Merida Carbon HT on eBay at the moment. Seems good.

Oooooh, That is Cheap, I was merely mulling over the possibility of replacing my Aluminium frame with something, light, cheap and carbon... Thats gone and made me think a tad more about it... You Bugger...

Seat stays look a little thin in the pics maybe...

What's going on with the Whippet weights? It was advertised as 1000g when first promoted, now the site says it's 1300g for the frame, but 1200g on the Reba build page?

Wasn't the 29er meant to be 1000g? The Whippet was always heavier.

Let's be honest, you'll probably find the same frame unbranded from one of those eBay sellers if you look! Some of them do dozens of different designs, many of which are rather 'familiar'!

I want a 'Chinarello' road frame. Some of the sellers will paint it too, the catalogue is simply the Pinarello brochue with the decals (badly) crossed out!

The frame only page for the whippet has the frame weight at 1570g, barely any lighter than the Scandal!

http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOCWH/on-one-carbon-xc-whippet-frame

"Hi guys I have weighed fully finished Whippet frames with vertical swap-outs fitted and the weight is the same for both 18" and 20" sizes- 1570g (just under 3.5 lbs). The extra weight from the 1300g originally quoted comes in paint (120g) and swap-outs (80g)... Hope this helps. "
