I am looking for a big lightweight waterproof jacket. I ordered a Casteli Emergency 2 Jacket in a 3xl which seems to be the biggest size. Not quite big enough. Even with just a thin shirt on it was a bit snug round the shoulders and tummy. Presumably they are small sized as mostly I buy xxl stuff in most clothing.

Any suggestions for a lightweight rain jacket in £100-£150 range which might fit me and is available in orange, red, or yellow?

I know the answer is try it on in the shop. I visited Decathlon and they had nothing on display except £30 stuff with zero breathability. The Evans at Braehead was closed. Anybody suggest a retailer in Glasgow with good choice of stock. I'm thinking Go Outdoors worth trying. Any other suggestions.

ShowersPass is usually generous in sizing, at 195cm and 115kgs, I use the XXL Ecolyte jacket and it fits well. Maybe a tiny bit short at the front, it is a cycling jacket after all, but otherwise excellent. Is lightweight, but not clingfilm light.

They respond very quickly to queries, and are really good on sizing advice, their Elite 3 jacket looks good too.

Thanks. ShowersPass XXL looks worth a try. I am a couple of inches shorter than you and afew Kg lighter but I like a loose fitting jacket.

Just been browsing the Proviz site - they have an XXXXL in the sale! Looks like they go up to 5XL

I have a Gore Endure that fits superbly in a XXXL size (I'm 6'4'' and a 48'' chest) way better than my previous Endura MT500. Gore have a discount currently and have them for £172.49. A bit over budget, but it is superb!

Proviz sizing is generous, but sweat buckets.

Not sure what Fat Lad at the Back may have

Thanks for replies. I have ordered a Goretex Paclite XXL at £149. The hoodless jacket.   My chest measures at exactly in the middle of their XXL sizing so should be OK.  On sale from £219 which was psychologically too much to pay.

As it happens my current jacket is a previous version dating from around 2007. Doesn't owe me anything.

Proviz sizing is generous

I must apologise for mentioning Proviz on this thread. The sizing certainly isn't generous! I ordered one, cos they had a sale on plus a discount voucher. What a terrible piece of clothing. The reflectivity really is the only good thing about it. Even sending it back, they automatically charge you £5 return postage when you could return it cheaper from a number of couriers. avoid!

I visited Decathlon and they had nothing on display except £30 stuff with zero breathability.

The £40 jacket (only available in transparent black which is a shame for commuting) is genuinely brilliant.

Sizing is typical decathlon though, in that S/M/L are what you'd expect for a performance cycling brand (maybe a bit more snug than the average T-shirt size), but once you get to XL it get's a bit odd.

I have some XL castelli kit and and I'm normally a medium, it's famously small.

Galibier are worth a look for big folk. They seem to go up to XXXL and make good value kit.
